Café Courtial, la Crêpe — Restaurant in Paris

Cafe Courtial is a quaint place!

We walked in around noon on Friday before our late afternoon flight! They were courteous and let us know that they were running a little bit behind schedule, about 15 min, which was totally ok for us. We were seated. The place is very eclectic in style. It has that grandma's house sort of feel with all kinds of mishmash of furniture, glassware, and cutlery.

We got our menu, and we decided on the set menu that had a savory crepe with emmental cheese, ham, and an egg; a sweet crepe with sugar and butter or Nutella; and a cider of choice. We got the sweet crepe with sugar and butter and a dry cider instead of the sweet cider.

The taste of the galette crepe was so good! The crepe itself was thin, crispy on the outside, and soft in the center. The melted emmental cheese was an excellent combo with the ham and the sunny side-up egg in the center. It was really well seasoned, and the black pepper was on point.

The sweet crepe was a great finish. It's so simple with butter and sugar. Not too sweet, and again, the crepe was paper thin and crispy.

The dry cider was a great addition to round out the meal. It was sparkling and a bit sweet and sour.

Cafe Courtial is an absolute gem. This will definitely be on our list of places to return to in Paris. Cybèle and Pierre are so warm and welcoming, and they provided the most enjoyable dining experience. It’s that neighborhood nook spot you’ve been looking for. The atmosphere is so cozy, and feels like a place you can pause and relax. Their crepes are incredibly delicious, and they gave the perfect wine recommendations to pair with them. We felt so taken care of, from the moment we sat down to when we left. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Cybèle for a long time, and even before having this restaurant, she always made everyone around her feel warm and full of joy; her smile is contagious! How did this place get 5 stars? I usually don't post reviews less than 5, however I think it is only fair to let others know that unfortunately not everybody get 5 treatment. The crepe was fantastic, no doubts about that, but overall I had a feeling that I have arrived at the wrong time. 2 tables just finished, 2 tables including mine were to be served. They were not able to manage that. I got seated, but my table was nor fully cleared not served. Once I got my crepe, I got the fork and knife from the table next to me, the previous client's water was never removed from my table and I helped myself to get the water glass from the other table too. My ordered drink never arrived. The waiter was very apologetic but it didn't help my experience that unfortunately wasn't what I expected. I hope the guys will be more attentive on other...
