I was sitting at a front table with very little service - ordered a bottle of french red wine, bread w/butter and dinner with my GF. Took forever but nearly finished the wine and still no bread or dinner nearly 1 hour later!!!! We were speaking with the next table and they also complained about the poor service - heard our waiter quit his job for some reason but then the manager showed up with the STALE bread - I put the basket behind me on another table. Finally he brings the dinner and slams it on our table and said something about the bread - I told him it was stale. He pushed to table forward and demanded we leave right away - I said you're throwing us out over stale bread and then got real close to me and punch me on my face - blood was dripping from my lip --- I stepped back while he demanded to fight me in front of his busy restaurant - his staff was holding him back. We left right away in SHOCK.
If you want to be punched, mistreated and wait for an hour to get stale bread - go for it. If I was in the U.S. I would have called the police, had him thrown in jail and sued the restaurant.
Pass this to everyone you know - the place has one crazy server/manager there that needs to be...
Read moreTerrible - go elsewhere Wish we had checked reviews, but chose somewhere quickly with hungry children. Eating early so restaurant mostly empty yet i had to ask three times for someone to take our order. I ordered the steak à point (medium rare), it arrived very well done - obviously Paris brasseries are famous for steak frites so to get that wrong is bad, but the staff's attitude was worse - no apology or acknowledgement at all, waitress practically threw the replacement down in front of me, wordlessly. No acknowledgement of fact I then had to eat after everyone else had finished. Made to feel so unwelcome even though I speak fluent French (and lived 6 months in Paris so am used to slightly grumpy Parisian waiters!). Woe betide you if you're a tourist and/or bringing children! Wine undrinkable despite ordering half way down the list. We left almost €100 lighter (3 mains & 2/3 bottle wine) and totally regretting spending one of our precious 3 nights in Paris here 😥
Worst: I planned not to pay the service charge in protest, but the service was included so couldn't even...
Read moreTHIS CAFE WILL MAKE YOU SICK. Please please read other reviews before you go. There are multiple reviews of this place being infected with mice. And multiple reviews of people getting a virus. I went in there during a thunderstorm as it was the only cafe that wasn’t crowded and I needed shelter with my friends. I ended up ordering their granola yogurt. 30 minutes later I got severe stomach pains, dizziness and stomach cramps. It’s been two weeks and since then everything I’m eating is making me extremely sick with the exact symptoms. I think the food I ate there gave me some sort of virus that’s not leaving my body. I’ve been to three hospitals and still can’t figure out what I got but it’s not going away!!! I’ve never had this bad of a stomach bug even in some poor Asian countries I’ve...
