It’s great to have such a beautiful space serving african food. we had Ndolé which came with rice (would have been good to include plantain too especially given the price) and we also had meat Thieb. The portion sizes were good, enough to make you just full if you do not take a starter or dessert, which we didn’t . Overall, I found the food menu quite limited, with the main meals (at the baseline cost) being primarily rice- based dishes. Which brings me to the price point: those two plates of food plus two glasses of wine (€12 each) came to a total of €100 after TVA. While the food was relatively good (not outstanding but not bad either), value for money was not quite there. Also, they played African and caribbean songs which was cool but the music throughout the evening was extremely loud, making it hard to have a conversation as you would like to during dinner and I left with a mild headache. Finally, with the space being so big, it would have been nice to have more space between the seats to create some semblance of privacy. Overall, while the location in town is great, the space looks clean and beautiful, the service was quite efficient, the overall experience was average given the...

I was recommended Villa Maasai over a year ago last time I was in France. While walking down the street looking for an interesting spot to pick up something to go, I happened to stumble upon it. It so pretty that you are automatically drawn in. I had very casual clothes on, so I was gonna just peak in and keep it moving, but the host at the door (although we couldn't verbally communicate) persuaded me to stay. Although I was alone, I was immediately put at ease once I was seated. They sent an English speaking waiter to my table (since the menu is all in French). I was able to listen to live guitar music while I sipped my cocktail and waited on my food. The gorgeous dining room was full that evening but was not loud or obnoxious, just subtle murmurs of quality conversation between groups friends or lovers on dates. My food was absolutely amazing. I bought just an appetizer special they offered since I wanted something light with variety. It was perfect. I highly recommend visiting, especially with a...

We tried to order a few items but were told that they had run out so we had to order out second choices which was a bit disappointing. So imagine our surprise when we ordered the masaai shared appetizer and it came without the sweet potato fries mentioned on the menu (and three accras when we paid for 2 people sharing...LOL). When we asked, they said they had run out and they didn't even bother telling us or replacing it with something else! We had to ask for a replacement which they abided by.

The darne de capitaine fish was quite small and dry and not worth it for the price .

The food took forever to come and they didn't even bother to serve us our drinks right away to pass the time... we had to ask them and they basically came when the food came!!!

Servers are nice but inexperienced. Music is a bit too loud and club-like, though it's nice they had some live music. Also, best plantains I've tried in a long time and the rice...
