My family's worst restaurant experience in Paris. You are only welcome here if you are willing to pay enough to satisfy the boss.
My family (group of 4) went there yesterday close to 7pm. To start things off, we wanted to seat on the outside tables, since it was a very hot day, but were denied. The waiter told us we could only seat inside, so we did. The place is small and convoluted, we were practically touching other tables.
We ordered our drinks and after a long wait managed to order our food, a pizza and a lasagna. The waiter wrote it down and went inside, then he came back and told us we needed to order at least four dishes, otherwise they wouldn't serve us. I questioned him and his answer was "the place is small, we need to serve more"
So we were not good enough, we were taking the spot of other family that would spend more.
My family does not each much and we think its very disrespectful to throw food away, so we prefer, specially in a place we never been before, to order a quantity we feel comfortable to eat everything.
And what if one of us didnt want to eat? What if we were on a group of 3? Would they just seat another person with us at the table so it wouldnt limit their full capacity? A kid needs to get a full dish as well?
And by the way its such a stupid premise, by sharing the dish we would finish and free the table faster for their other cu$tomers
We asked for the check, finished our drinks and left. The waiter, who clearly saw how disappointed and pissed off we were, apologized and whispered it was not his call, he wasnt the boss.
As we were leaving, very frustrated, one last surprise: the outside tables, that were denied to us, were being used by other people normally.
And if you dont speak french, be aware that their english is very limited.
We had great service in all the other Paris restaurants we went. Reception, sitting where we wanted, ordering and sharing our food. Even late at night.
I recommend you go anywhere else so you dont feel like a burden taking space from the next check...
Read moreI just had the most beautiful delightful meal from start to finish at Casa Di Mario. Delicious food and wine amplified by the stellar service. I can’t recommend enough. Every staff member I interacted with was exceptionally kind, especially my server. We didn’t exchange names but he was an older gentleman with short white hair and large glasses. He made a stellar recommendation (pasta with salmon) and was very patient, sweet, and attentive the entire meal (I’m guessing he could tell that I was stressed/worried about how long I had been there as a person eating solo). He reassured me that i could relax. His kindness and the delicious food (and generous portions) has me already planning to return. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Grazie mille, merci beaucoup!!
I had the salmon linguine with a dry white wine and the tiramisu (all of it was just...
Read moreMy colleagues and I were on a business trip in Paris and extended the stay for the weekend as well. We were walking around looking for a place to eat and saw this restaurant on Google maps. Had pretty good reviews. The first impression was: this is a nice, quiet and cozy place. We ordered some beers and pizza. Some of us had tiramisu as well. We all agreed that the taste of the food brought us back some memories of Italy. It was delicious. The music was nice, the waiter (maybe owner of the place) was very friendly, greeting everybody in Italian as they entered. The chef was Italian also. The place was filled in half an hour after we got there. Very nice experience overall. We paid around 35-40 euros each. P.S. Sorry for the pizza picture. I almost finished it when I realized I had to review this place. It...
