I wish I could have checked the Google reviews before I rushed into this cafe. I had the most ridiculous experience ever in Paris. After a long walk me and my husband got a bit dehydrated, so without checking the Google reviews we decided to go to this most reachable cafe. The waiter was rude from the beginning, he let us sit at a table that was not bused yet, then tried to force us to order the main course before serving water. We politely asked if we could have some water first and maybe order food later, and also ordered two juices as we were really dehydrated at that point and started feeling dizzy. He seemed very disappointed and impatient even angry, and then he patted his hand on our shoulders and left us a deeply unpleasant violating feeling. For God's sake I was too slow and didn't realize that he just harassed me. Then he was mumbling something in French and all the other customers started to look at me with concerns, guess he was cursing us in french. I saw the supervisor at the counter try to stop him using her eyes so I bet there were not any good words coming from him. When the waiter finally came back with the drinks he grabbed my husband's juice and did a " cheers " motion to my glass and almost pushed down my glass. We were in total shock by this point. It's definitely not a simple "language culture difference" thing now. So I went to the counter and told the supervisor about what happened. However, she just told me this is the parisen way, which is definitely not true. And she also said this guy is always acting like this, but she can do nothing because she cannot force him or fire him ?! Then she even told me because there is this crazy lady who comes all the time asking for free water but never ordered any food so he acts this way to me, which does not make sense at all, and it's being very racist and offensive on all levels. We were literally speechless by this point.... This whole time the waiter was unapologetically even seemed proudly walking around us, which made me feel threatened as I feel no one could help me if would do anything worse. I wonder why this cafe could stand still in this lovely area in 2025. But I believe people can always make their choice to be a better person, or at least go to a better place. Just avoid this cafe if you can!
And P.S I appreciated the reply from the dear owner. I think your words explained a lot about all these bad reviews. If you didn't see anything wrong and calling violating a lady's physical boundary as a "clumsy contact" or a "Culture difference" then you are an absolute racist, sexist and a terrible person. If you are still trying to lie about the waiter's reaction after the incidents. Then either you or your camera was blind. End of the day, it's your business, hire whoever you'd...
Read moreI didn’t know people get charged for being allergic to food. Apparently you do! I ordered a burger and explicitly asked for certain vegetables to be removed from the burger. When the burger came, I saw it had the exact vegetables that I had explicitly asked to be removed. When I asked for a replacement, the waiter got defensive, started speaking over me, and never once apologized for something that could end up being a tragedy. On top of that, she said that I had to be charged for the replacement. Let’s just say that if you want to keep your mental and physical health intact, you shouldn’t go there. P.S. the server I’m referring to was the blonde lady. All other...
Read moreIf you are looking for a real Parisian experience that's the place you should go. I was surprised how lazily the food is made. Waiters and waitresses were precious as they live in a world where people owe them some favor. The atmosphere is like this restaurant is the only one in an island crowded with wealth people with no other choice. I'd say that my friends and I had our expectations met with perfect display of stereotypical world thought parisian rudeness. I left very happy as they make us spend our money and time in a much better place and now we have a really good story to tell our children and...
