I had heard really good things about this restaurant. I specifically came for the Frogs Legs. Things started out fine but when I ordered a 2016 St. Julien Bordeaux, they returned to the table to tell me that it was not longer available and presented 2 - 2017's they suggested i could choose from. I told them that 2017 wasn't a good year and that 2016 was a very good year and I wanted a 2016, did they have others. That is when what was represented to be "the Owner" (a younger man dressed in a dress shirt and jeans where the waiters were all in uniform) jumped from behind the divider beside the bar and scolded me that I didn't know what I was talking about to say the 2017 was no good. I didn't mention it to him at the time but I am a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu Institute Paris's wine program and a WSET Level 3 sommelier, so I know a little something about wine, probably more than him. I stood firm and insisted on a 2016. They were able to then product a 2016 St. Emilion Magnum which wasn't on the wine list but was probably a better match for the Frogs Legs and Veal Chops we were having due to its Merlot dominant blend.
Beyond this initial hick up, the service was impeccable (our waiter, a young african gentleman, was very pleasant and attentive) and the meal fantastic. The frogs Legs were everything reports indicated. The Foie Gras rich and voluptuous on the palate. The Veal Chop, Duck Breast and Poulet were all succulent and flavorful. But the highlight of the plate was the truffle mash potatoes which were velvety with the subtle hint of truffle (as you know if its used too much it can be overpowering).
Except for the initial brush up with "the Owner", I would highly recommend...
Read moreOrdered as s starter the foie gras, it was still frozen inside and tasteless. 2 tiny pieces, and half a small spoon of onions which was also tasteless/It used to be delicious, now cheap most probably bought at the supermarket for €2,5/kg and reselling it for €500/kg. The new owner wears jeans and snickers, like a rapper, not formal at all - acting like your pal! He seems very interested in the US customers, as they tip generously (while not needed in France) spending his time with them. The table we were given was very small even though I booked long in advance and asked for a better table, but no can do. The table did not even had a tablecoth… The rest of the meal was poor, with the main dish “fresh seasoned vegetable” would be served - I received a few green salad leaves… how cheap can you be!! The dessert was watery and tasteless as the rest of the meal.
Used to be a great place to enjoy a fabilous meal; we used to come 2 or 3 times a year (every time we visited Paris) and brought many friends and business relation with us.
Now it became an expensive tourist attraction living on what the previous owner built with tradition, passion and excellence. I Will never go back and strongly advice to avoid it. The service is terrible, the food is “bought and warmed from the spuermarket” and the prices are a ripoff...

Review: We dined at D’Chez Eux with high expectations, especially considering the prices and the restaurant’s reputation. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to that.
Service was provided by the owner himself, who was dressed in ripped jeans. While clothing choice is of course personal, we felt it clashed with the formal and upscale atmosphere the restaurant presents — and did not match the high-end pricing.
When we politely shared our concerns about the food and the overall experience, he initially responded courteously and even offered a dessert, which we declined. However, the conversation took an uncomfortable turn when he asked if we were from Germany. When we asked why that was relevant, he answered, “Absolutely.” We found that comment unnecessary and inappropriate.
We are not German, but even if we were, it would not justify a change in attitude or tone.
We paid €240 for two people (receipt attached), which was far beyond the value we felt we received. The dishes lacked refinement, and the overall experience was disappointing.
In short, the restaurant did not meet the standard it projects, neither in cuisine nor in...
