GEMÜSE - Berliner Kebap — Restaurant in Paris

According to many this is the best Kebab in Paris and me being from Germany originally, I had to try it! :)

The fries are very fresh and delicious with a tasty herb mixture.

The sauces are home made and very good as well.

The sandwich was nice. The bread was crispy and the ingredients went very well together.

There is usually a line but it goes super fast and the stuff is very friendly and helpful.

The meat (chicken) is delicious but a little too dry for my taste

The vegetables were a bit too soft (compared to the original Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebab where they are fried crispy and to perfection)

10€ for only the sandwich and fries is rather pricy (compared to that most kebab places in Paris range between 5-7€)

Conclusion: A must-try if you have never had a Berlin style Gemüse Döner. It will not taste like the original but it’s a very nice creation of the owners and the long line is absolutely justified. A bit expensive but you need to keep in mind that you are in Paris, so that’s totally fine. Would definitely come...

I got to the place at 1pm, there was about a 20 minute wait in line plus a 15 minute wait after ordering but if I had gotten there at 1:30pm there would’ve been no wait. If this was at a time where sit-down service was possible then that’s a pretty normal wait time. The fries are delicious and so is the white sauce. I got the classic kebap with pain pide and the bread was delicious. The kebap is heavy on the vegetables which is rare for your average French kebab place but unfortunately is not the same types of vegetables as what you would get at a German döner place and there is not enough sauce as compared to a German döner either. The meat is chicken rather than a red meat, and the spices are good but a bit heavy on the curry. A menu of sandwich+fries+drink is 11€ and it was so much food I couldn’t finish it. It is definitely better than your average kebab place in Paris but I still felt disappointed that it wasn’t enough...

Street food in Paris is sometimes hard to come by, but this place does deliver a fast and easy street food type experience at a very reasonable price. There are other kebab options in Paris that also use the Berlin style bread, but what set Gemuse apart from those places is the generous portions of meat and vegetables. A well balanced meal that is a really nice change from your typical ham and cheese baguette that you usually grab for a quick bite while running around Paris. Word of warning though, there can be long lines for this place...it’s very popular with the locals. The price of 8 euro is totally reasonable for this kebap, it’s generous, fresh and delicious....
