Absolutely amazing and authentic Vietnamese coffee and food spot. We visited the city of Hanoi in 2018 and were obsessed with Egg Coffee (it's basically liquid tiramisu!). We haven't found anywhere that makes it but Hanoi Corner makes it . . and, oh my word, it is the real deal! It's so delicious, creamy and smooth. Also their coffee is of really high quality. We also tried the Vietnamese coffee, which was excellent. This alone merits 5 stars but there's more . .
We also ate a Banh Mi sandwich, which was also sensational; really crunchy, fresh French baguette (from the MOF, which is the best bread-maker in France 2015), with perfectly cooked, excellent quality beef (and tofu for my partner) and all with fresh, delicious ingredients (and very tasty, spicy chillis on the side).
Also, a final, but equally important point, the people working there are so lovely and full of interesting information about Vietnam, their produce and process (we spoke mainly to Linh and Nam, who were such friendly, helpful people!). The location is also really nice and central, and the place itself is really calm (in the morning anyway, as at lunch people come to get the food!).
Overall, it's really rare you find a place that is authentic, does specialty coffee and also amazing food. It's a really pleasant and delicious experience, all the fantastic, tasty products and the nice people . . It brought us back to Hanoi! I'll be back whenever I'm back in Paris, thank you...
Read moreVery nice authentic Vietnamese coffee. The egg coffee is their real hit, which is very creamy and amazingly delicious. The owner is very nice, welcoming and open-minded. If there's anything to improve, I really hope that the kitchen will be open for brunch on weekend, and the café is open earlier on weekdays for breakfast. I'm sure many people will love to enjoy bánh mì and coffee to start a day like the real Vietnamese way. There are not many options for food, which is not necessarily a bad thing, since this is a Vietnamese way - we don't offer a lot of dishes in a small café, only focus on some specialties. I didn't have a chance to try their food, but based on the look, they seem to be tasty and authentic. Will definitely come back...
Read moreI took a mix menu that comes with a bo-bun and a half banh-mi.
The bo-bun was terrible. Fresh ingredients but didn’t taste like much and the chicken was poorly prepared. Even though clients like to eat fresh food, having chicken skin with all the feathers attached to it is just unacceptable for a food business.
Now, the banh-mi I had was the beef which was good but the bread was stale and hard. I wasn’t able to finish the bread only the meat…
Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place for food, there are better options...
