This is a tough review because I really had high hopes for our first Michelin Star restaurant for our Anniversary, but this place left us questioning the entire Michelin Star criteria. We went on New Year’s Eve so it was a fixed menu which is typical for a holiday. I tried 5 times to make our reservations through ‘The Fork’ via the link provided but it kept telling me ‘the last table time was taken’, however when the hotel staff called to make the reservation they had plenty of openings. The price was a bit steep in my opinion but since this was a Michelin Star restaurant and a five course meal I thought it was normal. Upon arrival I thought I was at the wrong place. It is unassuming and has no curb-appeal whatsoever. On the inside you almost felt like you were at an American take-out restaurant. The server did an excellent job ensuring we had everything we needed and checked on us frequently. Throughout the meal there were several Uber Eats drivers coming in and getting take out orders but there appeared to be issues with the orders because they kept having to wait. I thought that was very odd for a Michelin Star rated restaurant. The foie gras was good with excellent presentation, and the carpaccio with caviar was delicious and well prepared. Lots of different flavors in this single dish. The risotto was probably my favorite dish. A tad oily, but overall very good and flavorful. The Saffron in it was a nice touch that I’ve never had before. The scallops with truffle mushrooms were good but the mushrooms were a bit too pungent for my liking. The smell of them were very strong even while eating them. The scallops were meaty and delicious. Someone came in selling flowers to all of us eating which was something I’ve never experienced in a restaurant before. The dessert was fairly good but I didn’t care for the flavor of the cake. It was chocolate with dried fruit (tasted like raisins ) with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on the side. The cake wasn’t as moist as other panettone’s I’ve had. Overall the food was decent and a bit creative, but for the price, I would have expected better ambiance and perhaps a step above what...
Read moreExcellent restaurant. We had the tasting menu with 7 courses (antipasti, 2 starters, 1 pasta dish, 1 fish, 2 desserts) with wine pairing (1 glass of champagne, 1 glass of red, 2 glasses of white). Honestly, we have no complaints. Everything was excellent ! Only the fish was slightly overcooked but still delicious. The wines, all Italians, were very well chosen and tailored to the dishes. Service was excellent, relaxed but professional as expected. I can't wait to eat again the fish carpaccio with strawberries and pickles, the carbonara, the cappuccida, and everything else. We'll...
