My husband reserved a table for us to celebrate both Valentine’s Day and my Bday!. He emailed the restaurant in advance, requesting a nice table. However, when we arrived, we were given a table that was “okay.” The tables were very close together, leaving little space, so it seemed like everyone was in the same situation.
We placed our order, which arrived promptly, but after finishing our mains, we waited 20 minutes before receiving the dessert menu. We tried to be understanding, as it was Valentine’s Day and they were extremely busy. Eventually, we ordered dessert, and my husband requested a birthday candle to be placed on mine. A waitress confirmed this could be done. However, when the dessert arrived, not only was there no candle, but the waitress (who appeared to be the manager) practically threw the plates onto the table, as if she was too busy to be more considerate. This rushed service had been the same throughout the evening.
When it was time to pay, we waited (standing) another 10 minutes. The same waitress then asked my husband if she could add a 10% tip. At that point, I intervened and explained that the service had been terrible. Rather than acknowledging my feedback, the waitress snapped, yelling, “YOU ARE A HORRIBLE PERSON! Happy birthday, horrible girl!”
It was clear that she took my feedback a bit too personal, which I find disappointing. Running a restaurant means handling busy periods professionally, not taking out frustration on customers. If the staff/restaurant manager cannot properly accommodate guests, perhaps the restaurant should accept fewer reservations to ensure a better experience—one where customers actually feel inclined to leave a tip, as we had been doing all week elsewhere.
I didn’t get the waitress’s name, as she was too busy repeatedly calling me a terrible person. However, I strongly suggest that she (and any other staff behaving this way) take a course in proper...
Read moreWe had the worst experience at this restaurant. My partner and I were seated right in front of the bar area with clear view of the kitchen.
We ordered two tostas with poached eggs and a side of vegetables. When our food was ready, my partner clearly saw the bartender reach (with bare hands, not even a fork) into our vegetable plate and ate some in front of the kitchen window.
Our waitress saw it and didn't say anything, she just picked it up and brought the veggies to our table.
When my partner asked if she saw what he had done, she replied: yes, and I will have a new plate made for you.
Our disappointment is that after she saw what had just happened, she still brought the plate to us.
We inmediately got up and and asked why and their response was to get the made again.
The bartender even got the nerve to come out (angry) and say he would pay for our food. We left with the intention of never come back.
If your standard of service is to remake the food (only if caught), we don't want anything to do with your...
Read moreVery instagrammable. The fake flowers everywhere make it look colourful, nice and very cozy. The fake marble wooden tables are exquisite and absolutely 'magnifique'. A staff at the level of the best parisian experience you might be looking for: unattentive, devil-may-care attitude, unpolite, arrogant. Albeit inelegant, totally 'très chic'. At the very best level and image we have of Parisians around the world - and Parisian waiters in particular. Total success on that level: 100% French and very expensive. But nice to make your online friends and social media communities believe you've had the best 'Paris' experience (those who were physically with you might notice, be careful). Well, at least, if you have the very cliché image of Paris. C'est la vie totally en...
