Lovely burger but was welcomed by a VERY MEAN host. When I walked in he was handling something at the front desk and from what thought he said he told me to choose a table and so I did. Once I sat down with my 3 kids and friend he comes over and asks if I speak English or french. I told him I speak English but I do understand French (with a happy smile as I always do) and then he said something to the degree of me waiting for him to clean another table and I couldn’t exactly tell what he was saying as he mumbled it and I obliged and said OK and then for some reason he was just pissed off. He said oh well then F me im just “the help” F this and as he was walking off said F you . I was literally so confused. I walked back to the kitchen where he was as I couldn’t understand WHAT went wrong?! I said “I’m sorry did I misunderstand? I’m here with my children.. (which if you have children you know sometime you may be frazzled) and he said “oh yeah fine. You’re with your children” and continued on talking to me like I did something to offend him. I was lost.. he came back to the table and literally had no explanation and was acting like I treated him like “the help” and then he goes.. there’s a french phrase for this.. and I said “ok what is it?” and then he says it— not knowing my friend with me is french (who was shocked and still hasn’t told me was said) and my friend surprised him by speaking back in french. Btw my friend didn’t even witness the first part as they were talking to my kids. Anyway the whole situation was weird and embarrassing, Anyway I stayed there because I tried to keep my cool and am an optimistic person.. whatever his actual problem is isn’t my own. I can’t harbor bad feelings and my friend really wanted to eat here. When he came back to order, again, he asked if I wanted to order in English or French so I decided to do so in french. (I’m practicing and I think it shows respect to try.) So I started my order, in perfect french, and midway thru he interrupts and asks “are you done yet? So I can take over” anyway we ordered, I was still in shock of the disrespect. And he was moody the whole time. He could have even tried to fix it at some point but I think he was prideful and also embarrassed by his own communications. The burger was very nice. But the host/server had a chip on his shoulder. I’ve honestly never been treated as rude or degraded this bad in a restaurant. All this to say.. I’m praying for him. And lucky for the restaurant I didn’t put him on blast on social media as I have a rather large fan base. If he doesn’t like his job or people and can choose me to be his punching bag then go somewhere else. I don’t know if this is happened to anyone else there but I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you don’t have to deal with...
Read moreVery tasty and friendly service - certainly one of the top burger places in Paris.
Details: I took the "T'es Pas Prêt" Burger with a salad as a side dish (18.90 €)
The price might seem high, but I took the most expensive burger on the menu, which was quite a large portion. Most importantly, the burger was excellent - it's hard to say how a traditional burger could be any better than the burger I had here. What's remarkable is that the salad was also very tasty, which is something you wouldn't necessarily expect from a place that's mostly specialized in burgers. (When ordering a burger, you have the possibility to choose a salad or fries as a side dish, which is great. Most burger places simply serve fries without giving you a choice.)
Date of visit: January 17, 2023 (lunch)
Edits:
I visited again on: October 24, 2023 (lunch), taking again the "T'es Pas Prêt" Burger with salad (18.90 €) December 3, 2023 (lunch), taking the "@Florian On Air" Burger with salad. (14.90 €)
I'm happy to say that everything was as good as the first time, so it remains a great place...
Read moreNice place in the middle of Rue Mouffetard. Reasonable prices and have a menu with many great options (I recommend to see some photos on the internet, you don’t know what to choose, cause everything seems great). At the end, my husband took a burger and I chose a pastrami sandwich (I choose it according to a photo that I saw online). The food presentation is really nice and the service is kind and fast. The burger was great (according to my husband 😉), I tasted the French fries which are hand made with the mayonnaise herbes sauce, super good! Later, I got my pastrami sandwich , well it was not like the photo… don’t get me wrong, it was well presented but it was served with a toasted bread that to me was not connected, dry and to be honest killed my pleasure while eating (in the photo that I saw, it was in a sort of wrap, soft bread). At one point I decided to continue eating without the bread. Overall the place is nice and I will definitely come back to try some other things...
