Les Baux de Paris — Restaurant in Paris

Great find So we walked up and down Rue Mouffetard searching for a suitable restaurant. We started with Les Baux de Paris, but continued searching, just in case something even better was about. But we came back to it as it was the most appealing. The blonde lady who runs the place was very friendly, and very funny. She offered us an English menu - her own English, by her own admittance, was a bit weak, as is my own French but we got by fine. The waitress was also very good, friendly and has good English (thankfully) and also a good sense of humour. There is a 3 course menu, which although called a Lunch menu, we were allowed to order from in the evening. It's good value (and the tap water in a jug is free!) . There is a "Sirloin with pepper sauce" and NO! You don't have to pay extra for it, like you do at home. I got it, and I liked it very much. I promised them I would come back again, particularly as I was staying at the Young and Happy hostel immediately across the road. As we were out late the next 2 nights, we never did, but we made a point of going back there for our final evening, so impressed were we by them. Sadly, and unusually, it was closed that particular evening which was disappointing. On Aug 15th 2025 we were a group of 4 that dined at Les Beaux de Paris. We were seated inside the restaurant, near the bar and close to the exit, an area that smelled extremely bad. In order to present the dishes of the day, the owners pulled up a large wooden board from the floor and placed it right on the table, taking over the already limited free space and visibility we had, in a very crowded space. We were the ones to put it back on the floor, before the owners picked it up again and did the same thing to another group of people. They took our order and although I ordered a fresh orange juice, they served me a bottled juice, the courgettes/zucchinis were bitter, they totally forgot about 2 portions of shrimps and when we asked about the delay they said the order will be ready soon, but it took more than an hour to bring it to the table. The used the same table cloth from the kitchen to wipe the tables and they were totally disorganized with the orders and customers that were coming in. I have been to 10 of the top 100 bars in the world. With this team working on my visit I am blown away.

Bo is very passionate in his work. The "Le Spiritz des Baux de Paris" house cocktail he made for me was incredible and unexpected with taste and quality. The "Espresso Martini" he made was surprisingly the best I have ever had.

The food he produced was phenomenal! Being above the price point. The "Filet de boeuf" I ordered was made with precision being exactly the medium rare I requested.

Ariane is so friendly and welcoming tending to us and everyone. I'm blown away. Friendly service that makes you feel valued like you're among friends from all the staff! I unexpectedly changed my plans on the spot just to stay longer, order more delicious drinks, experience beautiful music, and speak with multiple staff.

I don't know if this is usual for them, but there was a talented pianist playing live as well.
