If I could give negative 10 stars, I would do so. This is a horrible place with extremely rude staff, who don't even try to understand you. I was polite all the time, trying to explain that I was waiting for my friend to come and that's why didn't make any order. The waitress, didn't like I was charging my phone and knowing, perhaps, only three words in English, was literally waving the menu in front of my face and shouting at me all the time. I nearly lost my temper, trying to say, that it's not nice behaviour, but it was a monkey business. My friend finally arrived and made his order. I realized I didn't really want to drink any alcohol and soft drink seemed to be extremely expensive for that type of place. I was so keen to sing a song and leave, but all of the sudden poor DJ told me that his boss prohibited him to play songs for me because I DIDN'T DRINK anything. That was the last throw of a die. I tried to protect my position, saying, it's not correct to push me to drink, when we already made an order. But they were unable to communicate and because of that they were very arrogant and aggressive. I decided to wait for my friend to finish his singing/listening and then to go. What happened next. The waitress was still shouting at me, approached and picked out my charger from the socket neatly threw my belongings to me and tried to kick me out. The same as the waiter. Then I finally lost my temper and started recording them, saying that my friend is here and I'm not going away without him. I still have this video, I attached a screenshot from it. When they realised I was filming it they blocked my way and didn't want to let me out. Somehow my friend convinced them and by the time when I was halfway out, she showed this inappropriate gesture as well, but I already stopped the recording. It's okay to have certain rules in your venue. It's also okay to write them down and even if you don't want it any other way, you put a damn smile on your face and nicely explain to your customers especially those who are foreigner and it's quite an accessible for tourists area. But the more aggressive they acted the less I wanted to spend a single penny. I really wanted to leave, but I couldn't do so without a friend due to our arrangement.
Update: Reply to the venue's response. Sir, what you're saying is untrue. 1, I never insulted you, not a single time, I have a video of me talking to you, which I already uploaded and it's seen that I said no single inappropriate word. If you don't understand English it's one thing, but don't put words into my mouth. I was annoyed in the end, obviously, but I wasn't rude in any shape or form. 2. I arrived at 10.30. not 9. I have Google timeline as a proof + a message to my friend when I informed him I was there. And my friend came half an hour later. At that point I only wanted to leave, cause had enough of your aggression and rudeness. He wanted to stay, he made his order, which is enough in any case to be able to sit in any venue in the world. There is no law in this world, no written one, no unwritten one where I have to constantly order something in order to sing one song. We left at midnight, so we barely were there 1,5 hour, I wish I could leave immediately when my friend arrived (I didn't want to miss him, cause my phone battery was completely empty and it took long time to charge at least a little bit), but he asked me...
Read moreThey don’t want you to make noise even when it’s a KARAOKE. Incroyable! Avoid this place if you want to drink and celebrate. The DJ wanted us to be quiet event when people sang stronger than the noise we made. Kind of aggressive reaction to my friend. If you don’t allow people to make some noise at a place that is supposed to be for singing and drinking, change your place. Or isolate it good enough. Once they realized the bad review they started to harass my friends who decided to stay longer. No songs played for them, not even one. That’s how they “punish” you if you make noise. Ridiculous. Response: Liar, they only whistled to our group when we were singing (the only song that you put). And you said to stop making noise because the neighbors would complain, not because of the...
Read moreThis is an amazing little restaurant and karaoke bar! We ate here for 4 evenings during our one week stay in Paris. Happy hour until 21:30 every evening and the drinks are great! May is an amazing bartender/server!! She delivers everything with a big smile and friendly conversation! A nice local crowd singing karaoke inside kept us entertained. The vibe is friendly, people were welcoming, and the food was fantastic!! Try the spaghetti bolognese or one of the many delicious pizza options! Food portions are good and not too expensive. I’d eat here all the time if I lived in the city. Lol. Thank you New York Cafe, and thank you to May, for a wonderful dining experience!! We’ll definitely be back!! Loved...
