A destination for the discerning diner and health conscious traveler seeking a quick, gluten-free breakfast. The space is bright and efficient, and sitting in the window booth made the experience feel both unrushed and comfortable. The deeply green, well-strained celery juice was a sharp start, followed by the chia pudding. Creamy, dairy-free thanks to coconut and almond milk, it was brightened by the inclusion of fresh blueberries. Then came the lox, a plate of smoked salmon layered with sheep's cheese tzatziki, pickled fennel and cucumber, paired with a gluten-free bun that managed to be acceptable. The banana bread french toast was wonderfully not dry, subtly banana flavored, topped with almond butter, fresh strawberries and toasted pumpkin seeds for a delicate, subtle crunch. Judy demonstrated that fresh and nutritious breakfast dining can be achieved without flour.

I went to this place twice during my trip to Paris! Many gluten and dairy free options and priced lower than some other similar GF/vegan places in the area. The gluten free treats were yummy — I had a cookie one day and carrot cake the next. I grabbed a cold lunch one day and it was just okay (it was from the fridge — I’m not a big fan of grab and go meals like that). The golden milk latte with oat milk was also divine. I took home a bag of granola, which I haven’t eaten yet but I’m sure it’ll be delicious! I came back a second time mainly because of the cozy and quiet environment! Many cafes in Paris are crammed tight with people, and most times I can’t find space to even sit, and this was one of the few with an excess of seating (there is a ton of seating upstairs). It was nice to be able to enjoy myself, journal and not feel rushed.

This is a 2-for-1 review. We were a group of 6 and 3 of us liked the experience and 3 of us were not happy at all. It could have been that 2 of the 3 ordered the tofu curry and the other had the avocado toast — they were very happy with their food. The other 3 ordered the ramen and were very dissatisfied. The mushroom ramen had zero flavor and was lukewarm. The flat whites that we waited for over 10 min were curdled and undrinkable. However, we went here so our gluten-free friend could have a good meal and she was happy. The other 3 had to have second lunch elsewhere!

BREF N'Y...
