Kawamoto — Restaurant in Paris

The most unpleasant experience ever. ZERO customer service/hospitality unlike normal Japanese restaurants. I visited this place last Friday and today. Last time, I came here 20 mins before 2 pm. As soon as I opened the door, the waitress and the chef glanced at me and my dog, and just said “it’s over today” unmercifully. I was treated like an unwelcome guest. Still, I tried one more time today, arriving at 12:30. Again, as well as the last time, when I opened the door, they quickly showed an intentionally cold and an unwelcoming attitude, saying that today is already full and the dog is a little…(a little what..?!) No single word of excuse and apology from them.

I didn’t expect to be treated in this way by my compatriots. The restaurant website neither mention “reservation recommended” nor “dogs are not permitted”. I will never come back again here, instead, I and mg dog will continue to go to “Yen” in 6th arrondissement where you can enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine and genuine Japanese hospitality. J'ai longtemps hésiter à donner cet avis par égoïsme 🙂, car le restaurant est petit (moins de 20 places) et donc difficile d'y avoir une réservation sans en faire la demande à moins de 10 jours avant. Une cuisine simple mais perfectionnée comme au Japon. Les différents mets (du maki à la simple tomate cerise) qui composent l'entrée sont cuits/marinés à la perfection et varient régulièrement selon les saisons et des ingrédients dont disposent le chef en cuisine. La soupe miso compris dans le menu midi (excellent rapport qualité prix à 22€, entréeS/plat/dessert) me rappelle également celle du Japon, avec du goût, rien à voir avec celle des multiples restaurants japonais parisiens qui est insipide. Le filet de Dorade grillé au bbq japonais est vrai un délice avec sa peau croustillante et sa chair cuite à point. Le restaurant est tenu par la patronne d'un certain âge est d'une grande gentillesse, et le chef est seul dans sa cuisine ouverte ce qui donne encore plus l'impression d'être dans un établissement familiale au pays du...
