The worst restaurant experience I've ever had unfortunately. I can list everything that went wrong, even if some things were probably out of their control:
We booked the table online, it was marked as accepted but when we arrived they said they had not received anything and so there was no place for us. They arranged to move some people to make room for us so that we would not wait too long. We ordered 4 food items. One of them, we were told, the pork version was unavailable, so we took beef instead. We then start waiting. As we wait, we receive the Mo (Chinese burger) after 20mn. Then a bowl after 40mn, then the rest after 60mn. So by the time everyone had their food, the one that received their MO 40mn ago had cold food to eat. While we were waiting the electricity cut four times within 10mn. It was only in this building, and not all devices seemed to be powered down, so I guess it was an issue with their electricity set up. After around 40mn, we were told the beef version of what we ordered with pork initially was ALSO not available anymore, and that we had to choose something else. This was 40mn after ordering it!! When we started eating, most of the food was good and authentic, but it was not spicy despite us being told it would be spicy. -⚠️ Most concerning by far, the shrimp were definitely not fresh. My gf is a chef and has her own Asian restaurant so this is not a case of us not knowing what fresh shrimp tastes like. It was inedible unfortunately. ⚠️ While we were waiting for our food for a total of about 1 hour, many people got their orders within 15mn, and many many delivery orders were fulfilled. Probably about 25 deliveries over the course of our waiting.
Throughout this, the only apology we received was for the booking error, and we were just told "Next time, make sure to book by calling us by phone instead."
We were all shocked and never witnessed anything like this before. I feel bad leaving a negative review but in this case it was so awful that I feel like I have no choice but to say what happened, and hope...
Read moreThe two reasons I keep returning at Keko Momo are the momos and the noodles.
The momos called rou jia mo (肉夹馍) in China are considered as the Chinese equivalent of western burgers. They are made of baijimo, a round flatbread stuffed with meat. I think Keko Momo pan fry their baijimos though they are supposed to be baked in a clay oven. Even pan fried, their baijimos are crispy and not oily.
The momos are filled with sliced and minced meat and vegetables. My favorite fillings are lamp and chitterlings. You can also get them with chicken, beef, duck or vegan.
Then comes the noodle dishes which come from various areas of China. They are all prepared with finesse and authenticity. The noodles come in many shapes (thin or flat) and made of different doughs (rice, wheat, or spinach).
The noodles are served boiled with soup or drained, stir-fried or in a hot pot with a spicy broth. They come with a wide variety of fresh and high-quality ingredients including vegetables and spices.
The noodles are freshly pulled and perfectly cooked. The flavors of the broths and sauces are rich and well-balanced, making every bite a delightful experience. My favorite noodle on the menu is the pork noodles.
Keko Momo decoration is quite charming and the atmosphere friendly though the the dinning area is a little cramped. Hopefully the staff is attentive and eager to cater to your needs, making your dining experience all the more enjoyable.
So if you’re a noodle lover, Keko Momo is a must-visit. I keep retuning either to dine in or for a take away momo. While the restaurant can get busy during peak hours, it’s well...
Read moreAs a Chinese person who's visited Xi'an and eat Xi'an food regularly in London, I can vouch that this was very authentic and delicious! Truly good food made with good ingredients and very hearty. Honestly better than the majority of the ones in London. I spoke to the workers and owner who are lovely, very warm and welcoming and work very hard. Very nice and cosy ambiance with soothing Asian pop music which makes you very nostalgic.
I tried most things on their menu and especially recommend their dumplings in spicy sour soup, biang biang noodles with pork, egg and tomato, Liangpi cold noodles and Chinese burger (Rou jia muo). The drinks and dessert selection was also great!! The portions are huge especially for the biang biang noodles and dumplings, prices were very very reasonable (less than 10 euros for a huge bowl of dumplings and soup).
I was visiting Paris from London and felt rather homesick during my trip but luckily came across this gem of a place and felt so at home! Me and my friend ended up coming here 4 times out of our 5 day trip! Literally the highlight of our trip. Will definitely be coming back on...
