One of us hadn't had her lunch yet so we went into this place. She asked for the salmon while the two of us waited with a bottle of water. The waitress/manager seemed nice to want to speak to us in Portuguese (though we spoke French and English as we actually live in London). What came across however when she spoke to us was that we HAD to order something, since we were supposedly watching the TV (we weren't: a Rugby match was on and Brazilians couldn't care less about Rugby; especially if it's Japan vs Scotland). If we didn't order anything else, we would need to leave (again, one of us was having a main dish!). The place by the way was only half full. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt since the waitress/manager wasn't a native speaker of Portuguese. But it was extremely impolite. We couldn't wait for my friend to finish her plate so we could leave.
In sum: I wouldn't go back to this place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Update The reply below perfectly illustrates the service at this place. Nevermind they respond to written criticism of paying customers by offending them. But it's just funny and revealing that they think they can lecture Brazilians on what Brazilians watch. The waitress/manager also suggests that the marinated salmon wasn't expensive enough? For a half full restaurant?! By the way, one of us was so embarrassed by the whole situation that he bought a plate that had a little bit of everything they offer as deserts (and charge accordingly). Spoiler: nothing special with that either.
Again, if you want to avoid the stereotype of the entitled French waitress, spend your precious Paris...

I have been in France for a little over a month, returning to the United States tomorrow. 3 weeks+ of the month I spent in Paris. I came here 4+ times a week mostly for breakfast, sometimes for lunch. The food here is great along with the service. This restaurant is run by a family that also works here. I noticed a number of the people eating and drinking here are regular local people. That is always a good sign. I spent 2 hours + a day here working/researching. From summer (early September) to fall (mid October) weather. They have outside and indoor dining. Outside areas shaded and exposed to the sun whatever you prefer. The indoor area glass wall can be opened to create a completely open air dining room. Now that it is cooler outside the outdoor sitting areas are heated.
The very first day I came here I asked for a "Cafe American" Basically a large cup of coffee with the Pain Au Chocolat. That became my usual breakfast for several weeks straight here. Sometimes I'd get the orange juice with egg and bacon. The staff here are wonderful and understood I was working. Very kind to let me stay to work. Staff got familiar with me showing up and sitting in one of the same 3 places. It became routine, they already knew what I would order.
Restaurant also has strong wifi. Was able to stream lectures. This place isn't in a tourist area. Most of the people in this area are more local people. But if you happen to find yourself in this area, I would highly recommend that you try this place. If I find myself back in Paris, I'll definitely be...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were searching for a place to eat on our last day in Paris before our flight home. After exploring the neighborhood and checking reviews, we decided to have dinner at "Nostre." Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences of our lives.
As an American and a European who both appreciate good food, we were shocked by the quality. The steak was completely overcooked despite being ordered medium, and the salmon was dangerously undercooked and unsafe to eat.
To make matters worse, the service was incredibly slow and inattentive, leaving us without enough time to address our concerns before rushing to catch our flight.
While some reviews may praise this restaurant, our experience was nothing short of a disaster. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day, but I wouldn't risk going back when visiting...
