I chose this restaurant because I wanted to sit and watch people in the busy Lazare shopping centre for a while. I had the 17€ meal with the special of the day and a fruit salad. The waiter wanted nothing to do with me from the start, even though I was trying to speak French. The duck plate came quickly and had obviously been sitting out. Some of the potatoes and parts of the duck were cold. It would have been very tasty fresh. The waiter was waiting to instantly spirit my plate away. The bread was stale which is unheard of in most places but especially in Paris. The fruit was a quarter of an apple which likewise was soft and not fresh or preserved in a liquid that did anything to help, and a quarter of an orange which had many seeds. Not worthwhile. The only thing the waiter was slow at was bringing the system to pay when I wanted to be in my way. Really put a bitter taste in my mouth on my 2nd day in Paris.

We chose this restaurant as it seemed busy and the food looked good, but what we were served was by far the worst meal I have had while in Paris. We ordered steak and fries. The fries were very oily and soggy, not a single crispy piece in the basket. The steak was the worst cut and quality, which was so tough and fat/gristle that I could not even chew it enough to swallow without choking. This was not the skirt steak, but the more expensive one on the menu. I wound up spitting it back on my plate as it was inedible. The salad that came with it was fresh and nice, though. I wound up eating the free bread dipped in the pepper sauce that came with the steak. This was a meal I wish I’d never stopped to try. The server was friendly, though, so can’t complain there.

Me and my friends visited this place on Sunday 22nd of June and it was such a lovely cute place the food was absolutely delicious, I had a avacado prawn cocktail starter which I enjoyed and the house special main which was spicy chicken and rice but was cooked to my preference which was less spice. The service was fast and they helped us with anything we needed. Matthieu was our server and he was really kind and made our experience in this restaurant one to remember.

Terrible experience at La Brûlerie Caumartin – Avoid at all costs. We ordered the chicken rôti, and it was simply awful — barely cooked, tasted old, and completely inedible. I only took one bite and left the rest. When the waiter came to ask how the food was, I told him honestly that the chicken was bad and seemed like it had been sitting around for days. His response? “It’s the first time I hear that.” I replied, “There’s a first time for everything.”

I politely asked if they were willing to deduct the price of the dish or offer something else in return — he refused and instead blamed my taste.

Still, to avoid making a scene over a chicken plate, I paid the bill and told him I was disappointed by the service. His response? “It’s the end of the day, you should go to sleep.” That incredibly rude remark led to a heated argument, where he tried to hit me. I didn’t just stand there — things escalated.

Long story short: terrible food, even worse service, and an unprofessional, aggressive staff. This place clearly doesn’t understand how to treat customers. Absolutely disgraceful — I will never return and don’t recommend anyone else...

Now THIS! Was amazing. My homeslice and I were wandering aimlessly, well, really we were looking for a different restaurant, but stopped here for a drink. Our waiter was incredible. Just the absolute shining example of what a good waiter should be. He helped me pick a fantastic wine, then bore with us while we were indecisive on the meal portion, and was the problem solver in my partner and my “desert or appetizer” conundrum. He brought us bread and water without asking, and the entire time he was smiling and made this experience truly great. And I haven’t even touched on the food yet. We had the meal of the day, which happened to be veal and pasta in a delectable orange sauce, and I swear I could’ve died. I’ve never spooned the marrow out of a bone before, but I sure did tonight, and it might’ve been the closest thing to heaven that I’ll ever get. If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Oh! And the piece de resistance! The prices are not outrageous. I would eat here everyday for the...

Food was good and the service was quick. You ordered and within minutes you had your food on the table. BEWARE OF THE WATER UPCHARGE. All week wherever we went we were asked sparkling or still, sparkling meant carbonated which has a charge and still means tap water without a charge. We said still and the waitress Lydia, who was also the owner/manager came to the table with a bottle of water (not sparkling but flat) opened it up and poured it out for us. We were in the back and there were no tables around us occupied yet so we didn't question what was going on. Until a table next to us sat and they got a carafe full of water brought to their table. It seems in this restaurant you have to ask for TAP water to not be charged for water. I spoke to the Lydia about it and she just shrugged her shoulders. I would not recommend this restaurant because of that and there are plenty of other places in this area that have good food and don't take advantage of...
