This place is over rated. the place is lovely & nice but the staff service is ULTIMATELY POOR.. Especially the reception lady(who was with the gentleman in the picture) who arrange/led us a table in the queue. We are Chinese tourist whoc came for a week tour, speak English, cant speak French. Me, my wife & a kid (3 of us) arrived the cafe on 30May24, 1:15pm.We were asked to queue up (as without reservation)which we did patiently & were ask how many person which we answered 3 of us. After about 10-15min queue, I found out the lady reception passed through my queue (as we should be the next to enter if there is a vacant table)and allow the 3 person behind us to jump queue enter be with a table(the 3 person mentioned no reservation to the reception upon entering cafe and queue up). I immediately informed politely to the lady in English, we are 3 of us, why isn't us to enter instead the people behind us. She arrogantly tell us to queue up without any apology. We waited again for 10-15 min to be serve with a SMALL round table for 2 person sitting (total waiting time is about 30min). With the small table (cant order much food), i requested the waiter for a larger table to fit 3 of us while ordering food as i usually order 10 persons food for 3 of us. Upon ordered, saw a vacant larger table is in the cleaning process, the waiter very impolite and reluctantly told me that he cant make decision, and i had to informed earlier to the reception i'm with 3 PERSON. I'm very pissed off with his reply and immediately demanded to meet the manager which the manager did not come to resolve my request. Instead a very polite lady staff(sorry to describe looks like from African, whom i forgotten her name which i want to compliment.)came talk to us in fluent Chinese and understand the poor service being treated. She apologize on behalf of the cafe and offer some compliment food/drink which i rejected. She is the only polite person who came to understand a customer ill treatment service from your cafe staff, i ask for the reception staff name who misarrange the queue, unfortunately all the cafe staff want to protect her and don't give me her name. Thanks to google review able to let others know for good and bad review.
This cafe have no courtesy to people with children. Priority for person who speak French. Many other nice cafe in France,Laduree is not the only one. The food is so so. The food is so so. Pierre Herme macarons is much much better. Advice tourist just enter cafe selfie with this cafe, don't...
Read moreNestled in the heart of the city, Ladurée Paris is more than just a bakery; it's a captivating boutique that offers an enchanting experience for all who visit. Although my visit didn't include the restaurant side, the bakery segment of Ladurée left a lasting impression that was nothing short of exquisite.
From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by an ambiance that perfectly encapsulates the essence of Parisian charm and elegance. The boutique's decor is a visual feast, setting the stage for the main attraction—the macarons. Ladurée's reputation for creating these delicate pastries is well-deserved, and my experience confirmed just why they are celebrated worldwide.
We indulged in an assortment of twelve different macaron flavors, each more delectable than the last. The journey through these flavors was a highlight of our Parisian adventure. From the rich, nutty tones of pistachio and almond to the comforting warmth of vanilla and coffee, each macaron was a masterpiece of balance and refinement. The salted caramel offered a delightful dance of sweet and savory, while the chocolate was deeply indulgent and luxurious. The fruity varieties—raspberry and strawberry—were vibrant and bursting with natural flavors, with the raspberry emerging as our undeniable favorite for its tangy yet sweet profile that was simply irresistible.
A word to the wise for future visitors: take your time to explore the entire selection. The boutique's layout features more hidden treasures, and while the staff's efficiency is commendable, allow yourself the leisure to discover all the flavors. We realized a bit too late that there were other tempting options we hadn't noticed until after our purchase.
In summary, Ladurée Paris offers an unparalleled macaron experience, where every flavor is a celebration and every bite is a moment to cherish. The beauty of the boutique, coupled with the symphony of flavors, makes Ladurée a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to savor the sweetness of Paris. A resounding five-star experience that lingers in the memory as delightfully as the taste of their...
Read moreSuch a lovely place, ruined by the staff. We went to visit Laduree with family during our short trip to Paris. The team at the welcom desk were great. They managed to find us a great table and were very helpful. Things then started to go down hill. Our server didn't come over for the first 10 minutes- we had all clearly read the menu and decided what we wanted, closed menus and put them down but no server. After calling her over, and placing our order, we saw our macaroons and other pastries ready on the side, yet she wouldn't bring them over. She was more interested in the table of businesses who were having a meeting, and others who were very well dressed and spoke French. People who placed orders after us were being served first - despite our food being ready on the side. When our drinks were finally brought over, she forgot the water and it took her a further 30mins (and 2 remidners) to bring it over - by this point, we had finished our food and hot drinks.
This blatant disregard for our table of 7 was just an example of her lack of interest in us. The service was just awful. We had to ask for the bill twice before receiving it. When we got the bill, I asked to speak to a manager. The gentleman said he was the manager and when I explained to him how we were treated, he ignored me and continued to present me with the bill. We paid, (as we were always going to), but we're left feeling like we were not wanted in the restaurant.
I then mentioned this to the very kind manager at the welcome desk who assured me he would feed this back to his senior managers and come back to me. Unfortunately, no one got back to me with an apology.
We felt like they didn't want us there - we were the only brown people in the restaurant - is that why? We had kids with us - is that why? We didn't speak French - is that why? The management in the tea room was very poor. The attitude of staff was very poor. I would...
