ONLY 5 STARS ? * Almost everyday on my way home, I walk past this place. Almost everyday I see this big guy saying "bonsoir" to me with a big gentle smile, and a big cigar in the mouth ! At first I didn't answer... But Every evening ! : "Bonsoir :) " So I started to say hello back ! Then He started to say "HELLO" every evening ! So I decided to go check that place with a bunch of friends. Place looked COOL and always packed and even a BIG LINE to get in sometimes... So here I am going there, welcomed by my usual big guy !! He was nice and welcomed my friends and I and he went the extra mile to explain us how the place works... and all the story of the place wich was Josephine Baker's place decades ago. AND WE HAD A GREAT EVENING! We didn't leave until the light were turned on !! GREAT AMBIANCE ! Nice crowd !! nice barmen ! ALL SMILING ! GREAT COCKTAILS and nice choice of BEERS ! Only little problem was the toilet door of the men (my friend said). But it must be a momentary issue.
After that, He (my big guy) recommended us a rock club in the same street and even made it easier to get in that club as there was a line too Pretty cool club btw !
SO THANKS FOR SAYING HELLO EVERYDAY BIG GUY AND THANKS FOR THE NIGHT ! Next Time it's on me !! ;)
PS: Sorry I didn't...
Read moreI wholeheartedly regret going there and I do not recommend this place to anyone. We have never met such rude waiters. From the moment we walked to the cafe, they were being ironic. I politely asked if it was possible to charge my phone and the waiter looked at me with the most disgusting look and told me "we donât charge phones here". The toilets were extremely dirty and clogged and once my friend let the waiter know about this situation, they said that they did not care. But most importantly, the day we were at this cafe, some demonstrations were taking place in Paris and at some point the police started throwing gas 10 meters away from the customers in the tables outside of the cafe, so everybody started running. My friends and I moved to a place close to the cafe just to avoid the gas and once it was over we went back to the cafe to pay and get a bag my friend accidentally left. The comment of the waiter when we asked to pay was "You ran pretty fast huh?" implying that we ran just so we wouldnât pay. I have never met so rude people in my life, and it was not just one waiter, it was more that three that...
Read moreAbsolutely not recommended. There are definitely better places in this area.
The place looks nice from outside but the prices are too expensive. We went there on Friday night to grab some drinks and eat some tapas. Even if it was well presented, two people at least probably got a diarrhea because the food was not so fresh. The servers at the bar were really friendly.
However, the doorman was really unbearable and not professional (by his behaviour and presentation): the entrance was refused to two of our "coloured" colleagues (well dressed and polite as far as I know). The stated reason was: "private party...you need to book first". The worst part was the fact that the doorman publically made jokes about it (with his friends) which is humiliating because everybody knew that it was not the reason (there is not even a phone number for this place on internet). I hope that nobody from the top management of this place gave "some" instructions to the staff at...
