Do not dine here!!! I am a polite person, and generally quiet but I do not like being taken advantage of. We went tonight for dinner with 2 adults and 3 children. We ordered 2 x kids meals and 2 x adults meals + an extra drink, extra side and beverages. Adult meals came out first followed by a random entree for one child. We waited thinking the other children’s meal was coming… I questioned the waiter and he proceeds to tell me that we ordered 1 kids meal. I said to him we have 3 children why would we do that we wanted to (and clearly indicated two with hand gesture and he also repeated this order back to us and we agreed) I corrected him and said I have 3 children we ordered food for all 5 of us. He argued with me and then proceeded to talk about me in French to the owner who then yelled at me to speak French because we are in Paris. I get your point but when you are the manager in a tourist destination NEXT DOOR to Moulin Rouge and charging $40 Australian dollars for a kids meal with chicken that’s covered in cornflakes you can damn well at least serve what we paid for. They then tried to charge us for THREE kids meals (our daughter is two so she was not going to eat a 3 course meal) of course I was angry and started shouting as we had been waiting 40+ minutes by that stage for kids food - chips and nuggets basically. Food was small portion, tasted below average and extremely overpriced. Don’t make the same mistake, keep walking and find something in the ally way, I had been warned about places like this and still fell for it as we were tired and hungry. The only thing that saves this restaurant is the female waitress who fixed our bill and order, seems she’s the only one with a brain there. The manager is horrible and arrogant the type of person the French stigma of being rude is based on. If I could give zero...
Read moreThe night started well, lovely singer and good vibe. We asked to sit at the back of the restaurant because it was quite busy only to be sat down and immediately see a mouse running around. We’re from London so not overly fussy but we let the waiter know and he replied that ‘this is france’ and prettt much we needed to get over it. Anyway we had three courses which were mediocre followed by mouse/rat poison thrown at our feet and also asked to ‘shhhh’ by the ‘owner’ when we spoke about it. At the end of the meal after having two courses we were charged with a 100 euro meal and we asked to have a discount on the service seeing as we had had rat poison and also a rodent running around our feet. Followed by the owner who was not in fact the owner telling us he couldn’t allow it and he would call the police if we asked anymore. Pretty disgusted about the whole thing . He also told us this is normal for France and that this is their standards which I don’t believe. If you sit in the front of this restaurant it’s probably fine but look at your feet and beware of the awful waiters. Will never recommend this place and they will probably try and say this is a fake review or we were rude which is just cr*p. We both travel monthly and I have never written a complaint before!...
Read moreThe scum they call staff at Le Chat Noir pulled my girlfriend roughly from the bathroom and slapped me across the face.
Long Story: My girlfriend asked to use the bathroom at Bistro Le Chat Noir and was told to buy a drink by staff, which didn't seem like an unreasonable request. So I went to the bar while she went to the bathroom. I ordered a glass of Rose and a Gin n' Tonic which came to 16.50euro which is an excessive amount for two drinks, so without touching or accepting either of the drinks I said that the price was too much and to take the drinks back. I was then told that no, I had to pay. When I refused, the barman got the doorman to come over to me, while he went into the bathroom and roughly pulled my girlfriend out (who had no idea at the time what was going on or who this strange abusive barman was). The doorman also told me I had to pay for these drinks I didn't want, when I refused he slapped me across the face with quite some force 3 times. We paid with a 20 euro note and left immediately without touching the drinks we had been forced to pay for, just to get away safely. Even without being mugged by the staff, there are much nicer places in Montmartre than this dingy cesspit so best to avoid it for a nice...
