Le Central — Restaurant in Paris

I normally don't write bad reviews (or reviews at all) but these experiences were absolutely distasteful. I frequent the restaurant often so I was very disappointed when my last two experiences were tainted. Two times I have had very rude waiters. One of them yelled at me for mispronouncing the name of a breakfast tea. Not corrected, yelled. When I did not reply to his yelling he then started yelling "is there a problem?!" Very shocking, stayed silent the whole time as I did not know how to deescalate the situation. The rest of the meal following that was very uncomfortable and no apology was made. This occurred on December 15, 2018 around 11:00 am. The waiter was bald, around age 35-45. Another time a different waiter yelled at me for not finishing the last two bites of my food. I also got food poisoning from the salmon that same night. That same waiter also kept saying very rude jokes and calling it "teasing." When I did not laugh at his "jokes" he would say even meaner things to get a reaction, but I just kept staring at my lap. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because I have had good experiences at Cafe Central prior to these...

We went to Le Central last June for dinner. What an experience... We could notice how rude the waiter was in the first 5 minutes we were sitting there. It took a long time for the waiter to take our orders... even for drinks we needed to call for the waiter at least 2 times. When our orders were ready, we had some questions about the plate (it did not seem like the plates we ordered), so we asked the waiter if those were correct. I can say that the man got very angry and was extremely rude to us, insinuating that the misunderstanding was because we did not understand French (at some point during the conversation, the waiter imitated the sounds of a horse...). We then requested to talk to the manager, who was even worse than the waiter, again insinuating something about not speaking the French language. We decided to leave the restaurant before the conversation would escalate even more. Lessons learned: Le Central is a terrible restaurant with terrible food and horrendous service. In Paris, go to the real bistros with few tables and a better service. These popular places are usually understaffed with people working...

Bad management and unpleasant / unfriendly waiters. I had already eaten about 5 times in this venue, quite expensive with an average service, food is okay/good, nothing crazy.

Last experience I had (and it will be my last), I came with my spouse to have drinks, we said it twice to the manager who was in charge of seatting people - he acknoweldged us by saying "Yes, I get it, drinks only". He then seatted us .... and 10 minutes later we got kicked out of our seats telling us it was for eating ONLY - I told the manager he took the decision to put us here and now is blaming us by not having been clear enough about having drinks only (I am french, and we were very clear).

So we left, and never coming back - idiot manager putting the blame on his customers..... and been unpleasant at the same time.

Go to some other place, they don't deserve your money for the service...
