We ordered the 1KG Prime Rib with Fries and Sauce Bernaise and we ordered the meat medium. The meat came fast and it was chopped like dog food. There was absolutely no seasoning on the meat and the meat did not get any rest so the juices of the meat were running all over the plate and it was more of a fried steak bathed in oil than anything else, while eating the meat you could feel the oil in your mouth. It was the first time in my life I ate rare, medium rare, medium , medium well and well done all in one steak. I don't know how they did it but it was an amazing experience. I'm a Chef and I honestly couldn't understand how this was even possible. I gave you this star only because you surprised me with this steak. The sauce Bernaise reminded me of more of a dressing than a sauce because of the amount of vinegar in it. And the fries reminded me of the worst quality fries you could have bought from Lidl. A high amount of the steak was thrown out but we were still hungry. Due to us still beeing hungry after this visit we went to eat streetfood which was ten times better and a third of the price. If you have €100 to through out it's a good choice but if not, this place is not...
Read moreThis has been my (and my colleagues) worst lunch of 2024. It's only August. Let's start with the starter:
"Creamy burratina" for 12€. To put it simply, they served us a crappy & cold mozzarella , not a burratina and definitely NOT creamy. It was accompanied by a generous half tomato (lol) in 4 small quarters, with 4 half cherry tomatoes as well. The salad at the bottom was not fresh & oily with a weird aftertaste. An outright lie & scam.
Following this, the main course (For context, they proudly display on their front door that they have the best burger in Paris):
"Franklin Burger" for 18€ The bread, a simple "pain brioché" was mediocre, wet-ish. The overall burger was small, like un un-smashed burger. The sauce was industrial and bad, a "cocktail sauce". The patty, like the burger, was small and mediocre, although, uniquely in our table, it was actually cooked properly.
The accompanying french fries were frozen and not great. Pepper sauce was alright.
The waitress, of course, denied that the menu was essentially a lie & overpriced.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Ps: out of 5 colleagues, 4 of them have felt sick since...
Read moreI went with my family to Le Franklin, trying to find a restaurant near Champs Élysées. It was pretty close, about 10 minutes from the Monoprix on Champs Élysées. Once we entered a very kind waiter got us seated, and the menu was very nice and kind of varied with different meats. All of my family ordered a menu with dessert. Throughout the meal, the workers seemed to have been fighting a lot, getting in each others faces, and yelling except for the very kind man who was our waiter. When it was time for dessert, one of my family members did not get her dessert because it ran out. They didn’t want to reduce any money from the bill, so she ended up not getting dessert. The other waiter we had was not friendly, and did not make us feel welcome. The food although was very good, keep in mind that the steak will come VERY pink on the inside unless you ask for it to be a bit more cooked, and you should ask for the poivre sauce on the side. The place could definitely feel more welcoming, and needs to work on their conflicts after...
