This review has nothing to do with the food, atmosphere, but has everything to do with the staff. A month ago while visiting Paris I docked my Velib bike around the corner and sat down for a drink at Le Ponthieu when I realized that I had left my cell phone in the bike. The gentleman who was working saw our panic, offered us the wifi password so that we could use my wife’s phone to track the phone and 2 beer and made us laugh with a “here are 2 drinks on the house. you’ll never see that phone again”. It was exactly the laugh we needed when realizing that we lost a phone in a foreign country. I’m happy to report that a lovely man named Henri found the phone when he rented the Velib bike and returned it the next day. Thank you to the employee who reacted perfectly to the situation. So sorry we didn’t get your name. We will return for a drink and dinner during our next trip to Paris, and promise to pay for what we consume next...
Read moreLived right back here as an American. Pretty decent food, slightly overpriced probably since it is close to champs. Wine at another place is 6,50 but here it is 7,00. cocktails are too expensive. At night the 2 waiters that work are young and cool, in the morning its an older gentleman who is straight to the point. Im honestly pretty surprised this is 3.8 stars I think it should be at least 4.2-4.3. Very packed during mid day. overall its a good solid standard cafe, nothing spectacular, but that's fine :).
I asked them if they could make a dirty martini and usually from other cafes they will just give me a weird look and say no, but the waiter actually tried to understand what I was asking for, I said "2 parts gin, 1 part olive juice, and 1/2 part vermouth." They said that getting the olive juice is extremely hard because of where its stored or something like that so I just said its fine. I appreciate them...
Read moreA great location and looks beautiful!!! But ‘never judge a book by its cover’. The best thing about this place is the service. The customer service was on point, at least from our waiter. He was very good. Unfortunately, however that’s where it’s stops. The food came out and the waiter had remembered everything without writing anything down, which always impresses me, the food looked great, but sadly wasn’t the best. All 4 of us said we’d rate the restaurant 2/3 out of 5. I had the veggie burger which was dry, bland with no flavouring at all. The chips were drenched in oil - more grease than John Travolta, I ate it but neither of us enjoyed our meal, and felt €75 euros was wasted sadly. Great place for a drink, but food is not worth it at all. Paris is flooded with cafes, restaurants and bars. Be sure to check their reviews for a little...
