Le Gribouille — Restaurant in Paris

This place has decent food and drinks but the waitstaff is rude. I went there several times because the location was right under my hotel. Each time the waitstaff would ignore me and I would have to get up and speak to the staff inside for what I needed. One night, I went with my autistic son, It took over an hour to just get drinks. The waiter was rude and yelled at me when I asked for gin and club soda, he told me there is no such thing. Then as we sat waiting for our food, by now it had been close to 2 hours, my son got impatient and ran away. I told the waitstaff to pack the food and I will pick it up. Thats when they came running after me, to sign the bill, until then no one had checked on us. I thought this is a one-off and decided to go again for a drink with my family on our last day. This time with a different waitstaff, but same treatment. They Ignored me, as they kept serving people around us, and I went in to the bar to order drinks. I am not sure what the problem was, do they not like brown people, or disabled people? All in all, I spend 300 euros here. I don't feel like I should have been...

Dishonest practices. Read to the end. Unbelievable! My first review: Cocktails were billed full price during happy hour (12 instead of 6.5 euros). Unfortunately we noticed too late. Do not at all appreciate these dishonest practices. No excuses for this. Hence, better to avoid this place. My reply to the owner's reply: You very well do have Happy Hour cocktails, every day 17-23h, they are even clearly listed on the menu on your website. I now added pictures that proof this, so people reading this can see I am not lying. It is clearly indicated that the cocktails on the list are at 6,5 euros, and we were well within the Happy Hour times (payed at 19:42). So you don't only have the dishonesty to bill us cocktails at full price, but on top you have the guts to pretend you do not have Happy Hour cocktails, even suggesting that I was reviewing the wrong place?? (Check the address on the bill, it is definitely this place!!!) And by the way, food was very average, and cocktails rather dilute. My conclusion: a place to definitely avoid.

If I can give more than 5 stars, this place deserves it. We literally ate here 3 days in a row! There are many great places to eat in Paris, but this one is the best when considering many spectrums. The food is delicious, super fast to the table, nice music and the people here (including the owner) are all super nice. They treated us like family and my heart (as well as my belly) is full 😉

My recommendation would be their pate, foie gras, mussels and fries, streak and their French toast that’s made with brioche with ice / topped with caramel sauce for the win with a tall glass of white wine (which the owner allowed us to try/sample different kinds) but again, you can’t go wrong with their menu!
