I’m Mexican-American, so naturally when I see a taco place in Paris, a city I’ve been living in for 14 years, I want to try it. The menu looked good, so I walked up and asked if they spoke Spanish, as most Mexican places usually have Spanish-speakers and it’s always nice to connect in one of my native languages. The man working told me not only that he didn’t speak Spanish but reminded me that we were in France not in Latin America and so he didn’t have to speak Spanish. I was very shocked by his rude reaction to a simple question and proceeded to order in French, which I speak fluently. My disappointment continued. The tacos were nothing to write home about, quite literally. Beyond the fact that they were tiny, the Al Pastor looked nothing at all like Al Pastor (see photo, I guess they looked up the wrong recipe when attempting to copy it) and the pineapple looked unappetizingly grey. The barbacoa taco was okay, however the salsas were sweet and not spicy at all. The tortillas were a bit tough. If only the service had been welcoming I would give this place one more star. However, the tacos were sub-par and the service was the worst I’ve experienced at a Mexican joint in Paris. It’s too bad as this is my neighborhood and I was hoping to find a new taco place that I loved. Go to El Nopal, Acá or El Cartel del taco. Not only is the service there 100% better, but it’s also authentic and much...

I'm a Latina from Chicago, my father is from Mexico and I'm not too big on spicy food. Mexican food can taste different depending on the location and region. My father is from mexico but my mom is a Mexican from Texas and her cooking differs from that of my dad's. With that disclaimer, here is my review:

Walking up to order, I was a little disappointed that the guy did not speak Spanish, he did speak a little English, he DID NOT give me any grief when I asked. I was able to use a little of my French to order.

I had the quesadilla de Pollo and a taco de al pastor. The quesadilla was evenly filled with a hearty serving of chicken and cheese. It plentiful and super flavorful. Loved it!

The taco de al pastor looked more like a carnita taco, it had pineapple slices, looked fresh and tasted fresh. Eventho the al pastor did not look like a traditional al pastor taco, it was super flavorful.

My buddy ordered a barbacoa burrito, the rice, the meat, everything again super flavorful and delicious. Of course we had to wash it down with some jarritos!

I’m from New Mexico and really pride myself on my obsession with true Mexican cuisine. I got the burrito and quesadilla and my boyfriend had the tacos. The quesadilla is good, nothing crazy but it’s totally fine. The burrito was lackluster, the meat was cold and the rice was almost sweet (not how Mexican rice should be). The tacos were TINY, greasy and lacked garnish besides cilantro. You have to separately ask for salsa, which should be illegal because that is such an important part of Mexican food. The salsa aren’t very flavorful or spicy (I know French people can’t tolerate heat, but this is a Mexican place, so turn it up)! Honestly was disappointed because there is a good base for this place to be good! Gave it two stars instead of 1 because it is...
