This was supposed to be one of the highlights of our Paris trip — a Gourmet Dinner Cruise on the Seine with Champagne, a Singer, and a DJ. Instead, it turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience with Le Diamant Bleu.
The morning of our reservation, we received an offer to upgrade to VIP. Since we were already en route and unsure how many in our group could attend, we decided to clarify everything once onboard. Six of our VIP guests were ultimately unable to make it, so we kindly asked if any adjustments could be made. We received no flexibility or understanding.
Once onboard, things went from confusing to downright unacceptable. Two of our guests ordered cocktails, and we were served two bottles of Moët champagne — which we shared under the impression that champagne was included in our reservation (as stated). At no point were we told we’d incur an extra charge for the specific brand or quantity served.
Then came the bill. First we were told we owed €290. When we questioned it and showed proof of our package, the server left and came back with a different total — ~€180 — and falsely claimed we asked for Moët, which we did not. He also couldn’t explain why two bottles were brought out if it was beyond our supposed "allocation."
We escalated to the manager, hoping for clarity and fairness. Instead, we received conflicting explanations:
Champagne wasn’t included.
We had exceeded our limit.
The charge was due to our no-shows.
Pick one.
The most disturbing moment came when the manager told my aunt he would have handled me differently if I were a man. That kind of sexist comment is unacceptable anywhere — let alone in a professional setting.
We paid for a premium experience and were instead met with disorganization, misleading practices, and blatant disrespect. We were more than willing to pay for the two additional cocktails — but not for shifting justifications and fabricated charges.
I do not recommend Le Diamant Bleu. Save your money and your evening. Paris has far better experiences with actual...
Read moreAs a Travel Advisor, I take great pride in curating seamless and enjoyable experiences for my clients. Unfortunately, my recent dealings with Le Diamant Bleu for the Paris Gourmet Dinner Seine River Cruise were anything but.
Despite receiving an upgrade offer to VIP the morning of the cruise—which we intended to clarify onboard—this led to major confusion, worsened by a misdirected email. Six of our VIP guests couldn't attend, and we respectfully asked if any accommodations could be made.
The real issue arose when our table was unexpectedly charged €290 for champagne—even though our reservation explicitly included champagne. Two bottles of Moët were brought out, which we shared in good faith, assuming it aligned with our package. We later learned there was a supposed one-and-a-half bottle limit, though this was never disclosed. The inconsistency continued:
First, the server claimed our package didn’t include champagne.
Second, after showing proof of our tickets, the server reduced the charge but falsely claimed we requested Moët.
Third, the manager justified the bill by saying we received “more than our share,” then tried to adjust the charge again based on the number of no-shows.
To make matters worse, when I requested they speak English so I could understand the conversation about the charge, the tone shifted to dismissive and defensive. A particularly appalling moment was when the manager told one of our guests he would’ve handled me differently if I were a man. Unacceptable.
My clients deserved better. What should’ve been a celebratory, scenic evening turned into an exhausting back-and-forth over unclear policies and poor service. We were willing to pay for the extra cocktails—but not for vague and shifting charges no one could clearly justify.
🚫 I do not recommend Le Diamant Bleu if you're seeking a luxury experience with transparency, professionalism, or basic respect. I will not be offering this vendor to future clients.

Read moreA dinner cruise aboard Le Diamant Bleu was a terrific start to our visit to Paris (even with jet lag). The boat is very modern with atmospheric lighting. The food was excellent, very good selection served promptly with consistent presentation and cooking for both our meals. Service was friendly, even with a French-English language divide. We reserved a window table - make sure you book well ahead to secure this as it is absolutely worth it. If you want to take photos as you travel along the Seine (it is so different at night) head up to the top deck to avoid reflections. Definitely head up there if you are in the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower on the hour - it's magical. The duo that sang and played were very good with the Paris locals taking over the dance floor with tremendous enthusiasm toward the end of the night! They do manage to fit a lot of tables in a relatively small space, so be prepared to be close to your neighbouring tables. A good night's dining with terrific views and worth...
