I wanted to hit Phil Rosenthal recommendation (I'll Have What Phil's Having), Le Comptoir de La Gastronomie because not only did Phil recommend it, it was the hottest rated restaurant in Paris on Yelp.

We stood in line for 10 minutes so I decided to walk around and ask one of the waiters walking around how long of a wait it would be. Fortunately he spoke English and said he wasn't sure. He saw I had my son with me and said, "If you don't want to wait there is a great place right across the street." I thanked him and said I would wait for a bit and then may take his suggestion.

After 5 more minutes I decided to go across the street and was so happy we did!

Postiche is a sweet Parisian bistro, literally across the road. The hostess spoke a bit of English and at first I thought she would be a tough cookie. However, as soon as she saw I was trying to speak French she softened and sat us at an outside table right away.

While we were waiting I struck up a very brief conversation with the couple next to us and once again the Parisienne people did not disappoint with their kindness and refreshing attitudes.

I told the waitress I was a pescatarean and asked what she would recommend. She not only brought us an incredible fish dish with potatoes & tomatoes, she paired the perfect wine to accompany the meal. She brought Xavier a glass of juice and for dessert the most delicious creme brulee.

The entire time we ate our meal the same people that were standing in line across the street had not moved 1 bit.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Postiche! If you are going during peak dinner hours be sure to reserve a table as the restaurant was beginning to get crowded as we...

Love my date here at Postiche with my beautiful bestfriend. We have lamb steak with sweet potatoes side dish and chicken salad with vermicelli a bit Vietnam-ish style I don’t know where this coming from but it’s no French food I think, but I love the taste very refreshing, veggies are crunchy, chickens are generous and juicy, and most importantly the dressing was just meet my taste with spicy herbs spices and sauce. The staffs are nice, they talking English and very kind, patiently wait, explaining informative and important things not rude towards non-French people. Will...

What a wonderful place. Not the best in town, not the most elegant nor most stylish but who need this if you get instead:

food / 100% / delicious, healthy & homemade by fair prices to what you get people / 100% / kind, open, welcoming & very helpful place / 100% / authentic, cosy, narrow but very appropriate and authentic

I guess we will come back soon, enjoy the hospitality and the food again since it is close by one of my best experiences in Paris eating out.

Keep on...

It may look like your average neighbourhood bistro place, but le Postiche is anything but! I ordered egg mayonnaise and a flank steak with French fries. Mayonnaise was robust but not overpowering and when my steak arrived, my expectations continued to be exceed. The Roquefort sauce was a little bomb of buttery, yeasty goodness. Fries were crisp, flavourful and the salad had a great consistency and very little oil. By the end of the meal, I was already planning my next visit! 🙏🏻👍🏻

Delicious food and cozy ambiance. They had a chalkboard menu in English and in French (which was a relief). They offered 3-4 shared starters, 3-4 other appetizers, and 4-5 main entrees, as well as a selection of desserts. The wine selection was extensive and the service was friendly. For a Monday night, it was packed! I recommend making a reservation. They also seem able to accommodate larger parties upstairs. Overall, really great experience and delicious French bistro food.
