I wanted to hit Phil Rosenthal recommendation (I'll Have What Phil's Having), Le Comptoir de La Gastronomie because not only did Phil recommend it, it was the hottest rated restaurant in Paris on Yelp.
We stood in line for 10 minutes so I decided to walk around and ask one of the waiters walking around how long of a wait it would be. Fortunately he spoke English and said he wasn't sure. He saw I had my son with me and said, "If you don't want to wait there is a great place right across the street." I thanked him and said I would wait for a bit and then may take his suggestion.
After 5 more minutes I decided to go across the street and was so happy we did!
Postiche is a sweet Parisian bistro, literally across the road. The hostess spoke a bit of English and at first I thought she would be a tough cookie. However, as soon as she saw I was trying to speak French she softened and sat us at an outside table right away.

I told the waitress I was a pescatarean and asked what she would recommend. She not only brought us an incredible fish dish with potatoes & tomatoes, she paired the perfect wine to accompany the meal. She brought Xavier a glass of juice and for dessert the most delicious creme brulee.
The entire time we ate our meal the same people that were standing in line across the street had not moved 1 bit.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Postiche! If you are going during peak dinner hours be sure to reserve a table as the restaurant was beginning to get crowded as we...

The staffs are nice, they talking English and very kind, patiently wait, explaining informative and important things not rude towards non-French people. Will...
