We were looking for a small authentic French restaurant, going off on the other reviews this seemed like the place to be.
The service and the people working there were great! The server was really nice and we had a very good time there. It felt like you were visiting your friends abroad.
The place was very clean! You could tell it was built towards functionality and not necessarily cosiness. All the lights were a bright white light and the tablecloth was an oversized kitchen paper.
Can't say we were too fond of the food. You could hear the microwave working overtime, our appetizer was warmed up in there and so were the mashed potatoes (Which tasted like it came from the freezer)
The steak was cooked in a pan that was too hot, Burned butter taste and the fat didn't have the time to render.
We still had a great evening there and the food didn't bother us as much since the rest was great. Let the chef find his passion again for fresh food and this can become an...
Read moreExcellent service and food in a cozy, traditional French restaurant for affordable prices.
Upon being seated, we were given a small board of charcuterie meat free of charge!! The menus were written on chalkboards and presented to us by propping on chairs - so unique! The staff and the chef were nice, helpful, and spoke a little English.
The smoked haddock tartare came in a beautiful presentation and tasted amazing. The veal liver was cooked to perfection with an excellent side of mashed potatoes. You can tell that they listened to previous customer feedback and took extra care to make sure the veal was cooked to the desired doneness. The grilled squid and potatoes were also tasty (though a little under seasoned for our taste - nothing a little salt and pepper on the table can’t solve).
Overall, would recommend if you’re...
Read moreThere's a reason why I still check out reviews when I select my dining experience. This restaurant was walking distance to our hotel. So feeling like some French cuisine in a cozy casual setting, we thought we would give this place a try. We were not disappointed.
The escargot was superb and made for a beautiful starter. This was followed by a rump streak and fish. Both of these were basked in a delightful creamy sauce served on very hot plates. We had a white house wine, tiramisu and tea to complete the meal. They brought a jug of still water as well. There was a surprise lemoncello at the end.
The staff were friendly and helpful and there's an English menu board as well.
Appears to be a popular spot for families as well as groups and people dining...
