Iāve been to Siena quite a few times but last night was probably the worst experience I had in this place. Never have I ever been seated in the back room with the mediocre decor, but this time I was. You made my guest take offense and feel uncomfortable as she thought the way she dressed didnāt meet your standards. And from a forgotten order to slow service where should I begin? We had 2nd service reservations at 10:30PM, so plenty of time for us to arrive. We were there on time, we only waited a couple minutes to get seated, welcome was warm as usual, drinks and antipasti were quick to arrive (put a pin š in this, Iāll get back to it later), but the main course? š we had to wait for almost an HOUR as we saw the table next to us (with no more people than our party) order after us and get served before. As an apology they offered a refill on the wine. Mmmkay thatās what humansā time on this earth is apparently worth ā³š ... Part of what makes this place worthwhile is that the food is tasty, portions are generous, DJ is great, and the whole atmosphere is all in all great. ⨠Now, letās get back to that pin š. As someone who doesnāt drink alcohol (itās poison, quit the denial guys) I ordered sparkling water. š¦ Well, that water never arrived. It wasnāt a biggie so I chose to see how far this could go and not to remind the waiter (picture attached). Eventually it became the joke of the night as we looked at the bottles come and go and bet on whether or not mine will ever see the day. š And the wine? š· Although it was the first thing to arrive and had no delay whatsoever, my friend noticed her glass was dirty and had to have it replaced. Funny thing is, it seems to have happened to other tables too since later that night I saw a waiter bring back a glass of champagne and ask the bar to take a close look at it with a not-so-happy face. (Bad placement sometimes has its own um⦠advantages after all) Anyway, thatās not 1, thatās not 2, but 3 strikes in a single night and I really really really think we were pretty cool about it (there are bigger tragedies in this world š). Oh and I didnāt even mention how they almost served us a cocktail we didnāt order and prepared the table for a pizza when we actually expected pasta. DO BETTER Siena. You know others wouldnāt have been as patient or humorous. (And donāt give me that generic we apologize and thank you for the feedback blah blah) 1 star for last night. 2 more just cause they werenāt this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGuys, my experience at Siena was so bad I donāt even know where to begin lol.
Iāve been to literally all the party fancy āitā restaurants in Paris and Siena is hands down THE WORST ever. It was so bad I can't believe it's real, like I'm literally having trouble processing this horrible night.
Iāve heard of this place because I live 2 minutes away and walk past it every single day. Figured I might give it a try.
We had a table reservation at 10:30 pm Saturday. We arrived, the hostess told us to wait as they were finishing up 1st dinner service. So we waited. And waited. And waited more. People arrived after us got seated. We were still left waiting. We checked for table again, the hostess said āsorry we donāt have a table for you.ā Really? What's your reservation system for? What's your credit card deposit for?? What a sick joke! Another hostess told us to wait upstairs at the piano bar in case they have a table available.
So we went upstairs to the piano bar. Ordered a bottle. Then the waiter said āIām sorry but this table is not available. Thereās nothing available.ā
Are you kidding me? We wanted to order a bottle but literally had nowhere to sit lol. What a sick joke!
Then thank goodness the hostess from downstairs came find us at the piano bar and told us thereās a table finally ready.
By the time we sat down, itās been over one hour of wait. The hostess then offered us something to drink as an apology. My friend said a bottle of Prosecco (hey we donāt wanna take advantage of their gesture so Prosecco seemed to be appropriate.) The restaurant gave us one GLASS of Prosecco, not a bottle.
Fine whatever. Better than nothing.
We finished meal. Ordered another round of the same Prosecco. Got ready to pay. Then the restaurant charged us Champagne instead of Prosecco!
What a glorious scam. If you are looking to have a good time at a party restaurant, there are so many better options at more prestigious addresses. Better ambiance. More classy people. Better hostess and servers who are actually capable of doing their jobs. This one,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally disappointed, i looked forward to our visit and expected much more of it.
Firstly there was en issue with the booking, we tried online with every possible card but it didn't work. Also after a call there was no alternative, so only option was to go without a reservation and possibly have to end up on the terras.
Off course, we ended up on the terras. No problem, we are flexible and positive people. Though, the (metal) chairs are the most uncomfortable things i ever sat on. Not only how the chair is made, they are also placed on a slope so you have to squeeze your back against the back to not slide off. Very inconvenient.
We ordered the calamaris for starters. They were very good. Crispy, tender very good. 10/10. For mains the truffle pasta and the carbonara. Truffle pasta was very nice. Perfectly cooked, nice balanced sauce. 9/10 The carbonara was really bad. There was way too much food on the plate, the sauce was totally separated, it looked like cat vomit and totally turned me off. It didn't taste nice, to be more specific, except for the bacon there wasn't any taste in the meal whatsoever. Maybe a taste of omelet.
It all went downhill from there, the dessert was not nice at all. Tiramisu was leaking moisture onto the plate, the bottom was all soggy. The limoncello pastry tasted alright, but again very soggy. It was obiously pre-plated and refrigerated, for a place like this that is not acceptable.
So food overall, not good. I hope it was just one bad day for the chef. As we can all have our bad day on the job.
Service was good, friendly. Though, when i was asked about the food, there wasnt any acknowledgement or "i will pass it onto the chef", nothing. Which i find very sad. Also, one of the water glasses was chipped, it cut my husbands lip, we got a new glass immediately, but the full content off the chipped glass we didnt get back... it's really in the small things.
I am not bitter, and will definitely consider returning. Details are important. If you want to strive towards a certain clientele, you have...
