Today I received the worst treatment quite possibly in my life. I ordered a drink and the man asked whether I'd like it hot or cold, as it was a warm day I asked for iced. When the drink was made it came hot and I said "I asked for hot, but its ok" in a calm voice. The lady said "I'll make another one, I said "it's ok, it's a waste otherwise" the man who took my order cut in and said "I specifically asked you if you wanted hot or cold and you said hot" I said "I asked for iced but it's ok I'll take it." I took the drink and he continued to say in a raised voice "people change their minds and everyday I loose 200 drinks. I can't keep loosing orders" I don't know if he wanted a fight but I was in disbelief as it was uncalled for to raise his voice at me. I said "this is the customer service?" and he did not take it well. I said "alright I'll take it in iced then" thinking it would stop him because if I was willing to take the hot drink and still received a lecture - if I had took iced then I'd look bad, he'd have the final word and its fine. It doesn't bother me. But no. Something had already triggered inside.
The lady was making the new drink and he was staring at me and twitching, I witnessed a built up anger. He asked twice where I come from. I chose not to answer because I didn't see it coming from a kind curiosity nor did I see the point given the disrespect I'd just received. The lady looked at me awkwardly, I sighed and said this was embarrassing and she gave a look of pity.
He muttered something to the lady making the drink -twice, opened the till and slammed the money if front me -the money I paid for the drink and told me "have a good day".
I've been here before and had a nice experience with another person, after what happened today I won't be going there. There was a basic misunderstanding that was blown up. He came at guns ablaze towards a customer when it was uncalled for and I feel sad for the people who witnessed what happened. I've never been so disrespected. Never once did I raise my voice, it's not in my nature and it doesn't serve me well to do so. If he's the owner (dark hair, wearing sunglasses indoors) it would serve you well not to shout and act that way, it's not appropriate and absolutely...
Read moreWe visited because we had read very positive reviews. We are from Melbourne and when travelling we try and find the best flat white we can to start our day. Unfortunately our experience was not as positive as that at other coffee shops in Paris or not as positive as others who have reviewed this coffee shop. For the following reasons: the coffee here is not as good as the others that are identified when you start googling and searching for who is delivering the best coffee in Paris. For our taste it lacked strength of coffee flavour. Perhaps because there was too much milk, perhaps too little coffee. They use UHT milk not fresh milk, not fresh pasteurised milk. That changes the flavour and a great shame to spend so much focus on the beans and blend and then add poor quality milk. It’s not the only place that does this I think they all do. I’m not sure why but not to my taste. All coffee is served in disposable paper cups.Honestly, I despair. It may cut costs but is is worse for the environment and worse for the customer experience. The chairs inside are uncomfortable. The cafe has no toilet. Euros 5.5 is a high price to pay for a product of this quality. A higher price than I think it is worth and hence poor value for money.
Why did I give it two stars? I thought that the shop looked pretty and had been decorated in an...
Read moreI went to buy Matcha powder because I saw on their website that they started selling it at 25 €. Little did I know that the matcha, reportedly imported from Japan and « premium grade », is not even sealed. When you take off the lid , the matcha is sitting there, no protection, not even a sticker or something to keep the container secured. How do I know that it has not been used or opened before? How can you sell this? The website says premium grade, the color says otherwise. Not a vivid green. It’s culinary grade at best. So if you’re buying it to replace coffee and to drink matcha , forget it. On top of everything, the lady wouldn’t even give me a bag (and I will not even talk about the attitude). So no protection, no bag ? Very disappointing, very superficial, very unprofessional. The coffee is really...
