My experience was both uncomfortable and weird.

I went to watch a football game. The place was packed. I asked for coffee; however, the minimum for paying with a credit card was 10 euros. I told the waitress that I could pay later as I would order more. She didn't have a problem.

A few minutes later, a group of people left their table, and three guys took their place. I asked them if I could share their table. They didn't mind, and I informed the waitress.

I took my coffee there, and after a while, the waitress asked to take my credit card to keep the table. I found the request strange, and I didn't feel comfortable. But I wanted to watch the game, so I gave her my card (stupid decision, I know. Now I have to cancel my card).

As the game progressed, I also ordered tea and a water bottle. I called my check shortly before the end of the game. The waitress returned my card, and I paid slightly over 10 euros. Before I left, a man approached me, saying that I booked a good table and only drank tea and that I should pay the staff a tip. I didn't have cash and so told the man (who talked as if he was the place owner, but I’m not sure if he was).

He placed 100 euros on the table and asked me to give it to the staff. Needless to say, I found that super bizarre. So, I didn't touch his money and told him that I was sorry, but I got to leave.

The man was so upset that he told me not to return to the place again and that I should watch the coming...

We went to the sports bar to watch the India vs South Africa Cricket World Cup T20 finals and faced one of the most humiliating and insulting treatment from the bar tender (James) and his team. It was not only insulting to me as an individual but disrespectful to all Indians watching the match at the pub. They were racist.

India won the world cup but despite that immediately after the winning ball, James changed the channel to a soccer game which no one was interested in watching. We were intentionally deprived of watching the post victory celebrations and our team lifting the cup.

I cant imagine a sports bar changing channels and hurting fan emotions after profiteering significantly from the same fans during the match. We spent more than 300€ during the match to be treated like this at end and we...

Group of us was in Paris for the weekend to watch Racing vs Cardiff. We stumbled across it on the Saturday pre match and 3 of us had food and drinks and the woman serving us was absolutely fantastic. So went back as a larger group on Sunday and all had food and watched the rugby and football games. Again the women serving was world class and asked us what games we wanted on through out the afternoon.

Food was fantastic both days and overall the pub was a great experience that all of us enjoyed. Recommend after the first day to fellow Cardiff supporters who also turned up and enjoyed.

We all look forward to possibly returning...

It’s a few minutes off the Champs-Elysees and a good escape from that scene. We stopped by for a couple beers and a snack while walking around the neighborhood on a Monday afternoon. The place was pretty dead at the time but I can see how it would be a good spot. The beer list was solid (for Paris). The frites we got were ok. The bartender seemed a bit preoccupied with other things but was friendly and helpful.

An excellent English pub, serving hearty English grub, showing all the sports (with English commentary) and a friendly place to go to share a beer with friends! Also a place close to my heart, as The Bowler is the spiritual home of the British Rugby Club of Paris! You will find the team there most Saturday nights following a hard fought game.
