I'm sitting in the restaurant writing this review. I wanted to go to Ellsworth today, but they were booked. So I went searching for brunch spots on Google and this place popped up. Far away, and undeterred, I decided to go out...about a 45 min walk from the Arc de Triomphe. It just so happens this place was started by some Aussies...my waitress was English! So, have no fear if your French is horrible.

I started with a double shot of espresso and half a baguette with butter and raspberry jam. Good, as far as baguettes and coffee go.

I order the special of the day which consisted of poached ocean trout, lemon & dill potato cake, 64 degree eggs, and gribiche sauce. My lord...was it amazing. Potato cake was crisp, trout was not overdone, eggs were cooked properly, and the gribiche...it needs its own sentence. This was the item that tied everything together and made the dish, it was fresh, bursting with flavor and clean citrus elements. Everything on the plate went well together, a perfect execution.

Following this I decided on a sponge cake and a green tea matcha latte. The latte was very good with the matcha coming through. The sponge cake (lamington) was good...covered in coconut, chocolate sponge on the outside, vanilla sponge on the inside, with raspberry? in the middle. I would have preferred to have been able to taste more of the filling in the middle.

Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and would come back in...

After a number of disappointing coffees (mainly cappuccinos) from some of the typical, yet still beautiful, Parisian cafes, I came upon The Hardware Society in Montmartre. Their coffee is amazing , and by far measures up to the standards of the third wave coffee scene. Their food is also incredibly delicious, and I had the opportunity to try many of the items on the menu. The Toulouse sausage and Baked Eggs - Un, were my favorite. I was never disappointed with any of my choices. Once you conquer all the steps leading up to the Sacre Coeur, and where the cafe is located, you'll have built up an appetite, which you'll enjoy satisfying here.

The staff are very friendly, and mostly foreigners living and working abroad. Jess, who I believe is the manager/boss, is a very cool and gracious host. He's always there, and always busy making sure the customers are seated in a timely manner and that they're happy. Valeria, from Spain, is the staff manager and if you're lucky enough to have her as your server, will charm you with her humour, wit and smile!

The cafe is always busy, with mostly tourists visiting Sacre Coeur, which is just beside. I was a solo traveler, and met other travelers here every day I came, which was over a week. The small, cozy and modern environment was a great place to meet other travelers, and people are seated pretty close together, if you are alone...

I would like to start my 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😅 by stating and sharing that I have the privilege of knowing Jesse Keane. I am beyond lucky of knowing this exquisite chef and to call him my friend. For me this place is the place I’ve had the best meal in my entire life. When people ask me where would I like to have my last meal: this is it. Hardware Société has a charm, a beauty, an exquisite atmosphere, food that melts in your mouth and kind hearted staff which is something I find to be impossible to find in any other restaurant location around the world 🌍

A 10/10 and as I’m a local guide, who had the privilege of living in Hong Kong, London, Switzerland, Vienna, Portugal, Germany and Paris, trust me I do not do these reviews lightly. My word means the world to me and I cannot thank enough the whole staff and mainly Jesse for making each visit of mine the most unforgettable experience of my life.

Best brunch I have ever had ! Open a place in London, please. Primrose Hill, St John’s Wood, Hampstead, Belsize Park would be heaving everyday if you owned another Hardware Société there.

Before TikTok and instagram blow this place up even more, do yourself a favor, go have a coffee and a some avocado toast here to make your day better ! The most beautiful gem in Paris. CONGRATS TO THE WHOLE TEAM! Words will never describe how unique and...
