Trattoria Dell'Angelo — Restaurant in Paris

We visited this restaurant on the last day of our trip to Paris, just hoping to enjoy a quiet coffee break with friends. There were five of us, and since we had already had lunch elsewhere, we only ordered some drinks.

Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be very upsetting. While three of our friends used the restroom, we noticed the servers laughing and making remarks in a language we didn’t understand—clearly directed at us. We chose to ignore it at first, assuming it was harmless.

However, the situation quickly escalated. My boyfriend and I ordered four drinks, and the server seemed visibly annoyed that we didn’t order food. He tossed the menu aggressively onto another table, muttered something under his breath, and spoke to us rudely in his language. When we asked what was wrong, he refused to explain and continued acting unprofessionally.

One of our friends returning from the restroom was also treated very disrespectfully. The staff openly mocked us, saying things like “these people – no food” and laughing among themselves. We felt extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable throughout.

To make matters worse, the drink we received wasn’t even what we ordered.

We didn’t want to cause a scene or end our trip on a bad note, so we quietly finished and left. But the behavior of the staff left a very negative impression. It’s disappointing to be treated this way, especially when we were polite and just...

When I saw and terrified by three mouse, woman server came and ask what’s wrong and I said, there are mouse. And she asked me ‘where are you living?.’ I just answered I’m from US and she kept asking me which area in States is it. I said it’s near nyc and she finally said ‘it’s Paris, and we have mouse everywhere. We opened the terrace and they just come’ which made me embarrassed by being terrified. She didn’t say anything such as sorry, and that is the least way I wanted to be responded when you see the mouse and tell the restaurant. She kept said that it’s terrace and mouse just come, and said this, ‘IT’S PARIS, IT’S NOT SURPRISING THING THAT YOU FIND A MOUSE IN RESTAURANT IN PARIS’ Another old man approached with her and said ‘these are just my friends’ which was ridiculously embarrassing. I’m even doubting if she would have asked me such thing if I was not asian🤷🏻‍♀️

I went to manager(or another server) and talked about this, and thankfully got the sincere apology. So I don’t want to say only negative things about this restaurant. But the attitude of that lady server is very disappointing, and I want to warn you if you are sensitive with sanitation,...

Summary: Go here, if you want to ruin your night out in Paris.

It makes this experience so upsetting because I feel like I got more than just a bad service here, I think I experienced racism here.

I couldn't help but to notice the condescending and rude tone and gesture of our waiter, from the way he took our order to laying our dinnerware. Later when I found a hair in my champagne glass and asked for exchange, he picked up my glass and rubbed the hair off the glass and told me " It's Okay, it's on the outside" and put the glass back down. I finally shouted" Are you serious!?" And he yelled right back at me " are You serious!? and left our table.

This was a very special dinner for us where we were meeting our long time friends in Europe and I tried to not to show my frustrations and I finally had to ask the manager to switch our server.

Restaurant manager later came to our table and tried to convince us that it was just a misunderstanding. I don't know, maybe this waiter and this management was being fair and does treat everyone this badly.
