Linette — Restaurant in Paris

I'm going to say this place is way over rated at 4.5 stars, it was the last place we ate at before flying out of paris the following morning. I think the waiter targeted us for rip off right from the moment we sat and asked to speak in English- we selected this place based on (a) it's 4.5 rating (b) it has a 300g (10.5 ounce) rib steak on the menu - We wanted steak and both ordered the steak, it was thin cut and a bit chewy for the price and the meal was overall mediocre. But where the place really fell down was the waiter, he seemes annoyed when we asked for water instead of beer or wine, he didn't offer us any choice or size of bottled water, plain or sparkling, he just plonked down the most expensive, large bottle of water on the menu. I should have taken that as a sign but he had bigger gonads than that - shamlessly asking for a tip at the end, which to my understanding is a no no in Paris as service is included in the bill and in general, tipping is not expected as it is here in the US, In fact, with only one other exception (the first place we ate upon arrival in paris (Cafe le Dome)) not one waiter / waitress in any of the multiple resuarants and cafes we ate at asked for a tip or gave us items without choice. Any place that allows a waiter to scam the customer on choice and on tipping should get a pass IMO. Hello my friendlings, Anthony. This is a poem I wrote or I just made up I wanted escargot I got Escargot I ate Escargot I love Escargot And therefore so This is the best restaurant I know Thank you Thankyou This kind and crazy friendling, Anthony gave me a lollipop. I do like lollipops and I got the green apple flavor. I like this restaurant, it is very cozy Very demure Very mindful Very vital Very cutesy It gives a good vibe. And this very kind old man waiter was very fast and efficient, not Anthony, he has a good mindset I know. Thankyou Now back to Anthony. This one of a kind dude is awesome He radiates kindness and awesomeness. I write a description of our dinner but shortened as all the things I could say would take forever to say. Description; Smells of baguettes and soups and snails filled my nose. Aiden and I were amazed. We looked at the light up sign and the cheerful noises coming from the restaurant. “ So this is it?” Aiden asked . “ Yup and it looks incredible” I breathed. I entered sitting down in a comfortable and lavish chair. The jubilant waiter ordered our food. He was so jolly the whole way. Through now. This waiter was Anthony. He radiated kindness and happiness, and a cheerfulness that I loved. The beautiful plated snails placed onto the table. It smelled heavenly. The liver and the duck looked absolutely delicious. Superb Service with awesome food. Wooow, our server was awesome, and they cleaned the table as soon as you finished your food. Thank you, Linette management, for hiring awesome servers, especially the friendly server who grabbed us from the street to offer awesome dinner. The steak dinner is better than what we have in the US and a little bit less pricier. We had the Swedish salad, the italian salad, and the vegetable lasagna, Superb Service with awesome food.
