Chez Pippo — Restaurant in Paris

Don't get it wrong- the food is very, very good. In fact, this is my second time in two years visiting this restaurant because of the food quality.

However, there were some elements to dislike. I had placed a reservation for 19:30 but then changed it later in the day to 20:30 due to a change in my plans. When I arrived at the restaurant at 20:30, I was told my reservation was no longer valid as I had arrived an hour late (the restaurant writes down reservation times on a sheet of paper at midday and does not appear to update them).

I informed them that I had modified my reservation earlier in the day and showed them the confirmation email showing that I had a reservation for 20:30. They apologized and said they would try to accommodate me. I ended up waiting close to 45 minutes after my scheduled reservation time until I was seated.

The restaurant was fully booked for the night, so the servers were fairly busy. However, it took a very long time for them to ask me for my order and get me the check.

As for how I was compensated for the wait, I was offered a glaas of white and a lemon shot (they offered the wine for free to other guests who were only waiting ~10 minutes). I was sort of expecting them to comp my dessert or something, but I guess I was idealistic.

Overall, the servers, while friendly, could have provided a little better service (whether it be comping an item from my meal or just being a little more attentive). 4 stars still as the food is excellent and the atmosphere was nice; just a little more touch up on the services areas as I mentioned (and I would highly, highly reccomend they use an electronic reservation display system to see reservations in real time, rather them writing them all down at one point in the day).

Went here for lunch after the Eiffel Tower and had a wonderful meal and experience.

The service was amazing and the food hit the spot. The only complaint is that we were seated at the walk way so we were bumped a lot. However, given that we were hungry and seated right away, small sacrifice!

SERVICE 5/5 We were seated, our orders taken, and our table was cleared often (important when you have a tiny table).

FOOD 5/5 Trofie Al Pesto di Pippo (fresh basil, pine nuts, Parmesan, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil). The noodles had a great chew to them and the flavours were well balanced.

Pappardelle alla Bolognaise (tomato sauce and mince meat). A wonderful classic and tasty dish.

However the winner was the La Ciccia appetizer. The cured meats were excellent quality.

ATMOSPHERE 4.5/5 it’s very clean with lovely decor. Expect it to be busy and loud because it’s right by the Eiffel Tower. Like I said, I wish I wasn’t seated right in the path where everyone was coming in and out. We were constantly bumped. I’m just want to let people know that because it’s busy, you might be seated in a crammed spot. I did not actually take any points off because I understand it’s a busy place.

Overall, I would come here again and recommend this place. For a spot so close to the Eiffel Tower, the prices were very reasonable, the food was delicious, and the service...

Chez Pippo provided the BEST restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The server and the host/manager are amazing and they accommodated in every way they could and last minute. Not to mention they are close promixity to the Eiffel tower.

We were sat outside but it started raining halfway and they were able to move us inside. They helped us bring everything in and made sure we were comfortable. They are also English accommodating and all the recommendations they made were excellent. I cannot rave about how great our server was and how well taken care of we were by him. He was very friendly, personable, and professional. I would like to point out, the entire time of them taking the extra time to care for us while it’s VERY BUSY, is phenomenal.

The food is outstanding. I got the squid ink pasta with a lemon cream sauce - it’s the best pasta I’ve ever had. Others in my group also highly enjoyed their meals. The desserts are amazing as I got the gelato (italian version) that is “made in house”. I find it hard to come by gelato “made in house” so I was pleasantly surprised.

Chez Pippo hit every point that you want in a dining experience and more. My friends and I cannot stop talking about how great this restaurant is. Fantastic experience and I highly highly recommend coming here! I do recommend making a reservation instead of walk...
