VIET NAM IMPRESSIONS — Restaurant in Paris

As much as I would like to support Vietnamese business, I have to admit that the food in this restaurant was not good as I anticipated due to the Google comments regarding this restaurant: my parents were both passionate Vietnamese born people who love to cook at home; I have ordered the Bánh cuốn and the Pho Bo this December: but I was disappointed as a Vietnamese customer: the Bánh cuốn was overheated in the microwave, the typical Vietnamese fish sauce dip was not tasty at all. Regarding the Pho Bo, I have to ask for normally provided extra Hoi Sinh sauce, and additionally, they left out the Vietnamese basil and chili, which vietnamese people normally request and which will add to the specific flavor of the soup. I have to ask extra for the sauce and the chilies. The vietnamese basil was not provided, but I did not ask for. Overall, I assumed that this restaurant will work out for the usual unexperienced Parisian customers or some american vietnamese tourists from Orange County in Los Angeles, but not for THE authentic vietnamese born client. I hope that they will improve next Year. As to add for the atmosphere: it was quite cold in the restaurant, customers had to leave on their coats in December. They execute what they know best, which pho and some rice dishes! No fanfare. No frills. Nothing extra nor out of the ordinary. You can’t hate on the very affordable price for the good amount of servings.

We got the beef pho, caramel pork with rice and two additional sides for about 30 euros. The lady doing the waitressing spoke fluent English, French, and Vietnamese and the gentleman in the kitchen was able to prepare the dishes quite quickly.

I will return for some soup and pho when I am around the Gar...

Authentic Vietnamese food at an affordable price! We came during lunch hour but were able to find a table without a wait and the food came out fast. We ordered the shrimp mango salad and beef bo bun. The shrimp was prepared well and the salad had a nice tang and was mildy spicy. The beef bo bun was delicious and everything tasted so fresh.

The server was friendly and attentive. This place is great if you’re ever craving Vietnamese food...
