Wukong The Grand Master — Restaurant in Paris

I visited this restaurant on New Year’s Eve after hearing great things online. The ambiance was a perfect 10/10, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We ordered The Grand Master formula, the White Paper Fan rolls with shrimp, and two cocktails.

The formula offered good value for the price, but unfortunately, the dim sum with shrimp had an unpleasant and funky aftertaste. The White Paper Fan rolls were a letdown, the rice paper seemed old and was nearly inedible. We ended up unraveling the rolls and only eating the shrimps inside.

As for the cocktails, the Young and Dangerous was absolutely delicious. Skip the Sweet Surrender, it was a miss, super strong with none of the flavors described on the menu.

What ruined the night was the aftermath. Shortly after eating, I developed a severe stomach ache and food poisoning, forcing me to return to my hotel and miss the rest of the evening. My boyfriend experienced the same symptoms later that night.

Overall the restaurant has potential, and I appreciated the ambiance and location. However, the quality of the food and the unfortunate aftermath left me hesitant to recommend it. I’d like to give it another chance in the future but really hope for a better...
