Really nice Georgian restaurant. If you are after good food, but not a fancy place, you should visit Ghebi. The food quality and taste is really nice. Hospitality: just to give you some flavor of the place: the plates where replaced 3 times while I was continuing to eat (in other places I have been visiting so far no one replaced the plates). Also, while eating on an adjacent table 5 people started singing really nice Georgian song and everyone was applauding after they finished it, after a while the lights were switched off and a birthday cake was presented to someone on the opposite table and everyone was singing a happy birthday song. Food quality: The place is targeted to local people so they are keeping the quality of the food, and you can join them to get the taste of the authentic cuisine. Location: placed on one of the main street, just aside of it and on the underground level. Overall I would give 5/5 and...
Read moreI found Ghebi early on a Saturday morning after a long night of drinking and live music — I was starving, and as many visitors to Tbilisi know, not many places open early for breakfast. Ghebi was a lifesaver because it’s open 24 hours and exactly what I needed.
The entrance can be a little tricky to find. Look for the sign, then head downstairs and walk further into the building — the restaurant is surprisingly spacious, and most of the staff are located closer to the kitchen down the hall.
I ordered the stewed calf with bread and it was delicious — rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. The woman who took my order didn’t speak English, but still made me feel incredibly welcome. The entire menu is available in English too, so ordering is easy even if your Georgian is limited.
Highly recommend Ghebi for a hearty local meal, whether you're up early, out late, or just craving something soulful and...
Read moreWe came there at 23:30 and waited for all the dishes for around 50 minutes. They brought wine right away. Food was just ok. We expected more given it has more than 4 stars. However, there was some drunk guy who was walking across the restaurant, and he was saying random stuff. He was a weirdo and it created an intense atmosphere. The staff didn’t try to kick him out or call the police(police is located next building). Seems like because this place is 24/7, it is popular among drunk people because some more showed up later. Definitely wouldn’t come again. We ordered 3 dishes and wine. Bill came out to 75 lari. Typically, in other places we pay around 100 lari. It is slightly cheaper but neither the food or atmosphere is worth...
