The SERVICE at the coffee shop is wayyyy too bad. The shop CHEATED the customer. We were here on 09.01.24 at 2:30pm, got 2 pieces of cake to eat here. We asked to pay right away, the cashier denied and told me to pay later. When we finished and wanted to pay, the cashier said they're 11€. However the price tag of the cake is 4,3€/each till in front of the window, but the cashier forced us to pay 5,5€/each. She explained because we ate here so the price inclusive tax, but following the LAW there is only 19% VAT tax adding to the original price when we eat at the place (means 4,8€/each). Then she said "Service arbeitet NICHT UMSONST". Firstly, they VIOALTED the law, and did not present and explain the price for "zum hier Essen" vs "zum Mitnehmen" before the customer ordered. Secondly, the attitude of the cashier is wayyyy too bad, the bakery pays for her not the customer. Here is Germany not America!!!!! Thirdly, from what she said and reacted to us, she is racist. Not ever come here...

On top of the wonderful service and the great food for anyone with a sweet tooth, this place also had surprisingly affordable prices. That is not to say the cake was cheap or tasted cheap. Not at all. But based on the quality of the products and the service provided, we were expecting a price tag double the one we were handed here. A very welcome surprise. A strong...
Read moreWe came in without knowing that this was a "famous" cafe', we just wanted to try some pastries and have a cup of coffee. It was impossible or it would have required waiting much more than I am happy with, kids and wife were of the same opinion, so after waiting some 15 minutes at a table we managed to snatch in the labyrinth of small rooms and stairs which make, supposedly, the charm of this place, we stood up, went to the cash counter and asked for our pastries to be packed to go. At home we did try them: not worth the effort, as someone else already mentioned they look better than they taste, and that's always a shame because it means that the ingredients of choice are poor...
