Enchilada Augsburg — Restaurant in Augsburg

A very disappointing experience. We arrived at 20h00 at the restaurant. We ordered a starter (nacho chips and sides), a few drinks and main courses. It took 15 -20 mins to get the drinks, and we continued to wait for the starter. It took almost 45 mins for the chips to arrive from the time we had ordered it. Even if it was crowded and even if they were behind due to a sudden rainfall that seemingly had disrupted their schedule, it is no excuse to serve everything that is readymade ie chips and sides after almost 45’. After that we continued to wait. At 9pm we asked our server to bring the food asap as it was almost one hour by then. She again gave us the same reason and said it should take 15-20 mins more. By about 0930 when nothing had arrived , we asked her and she told us that it was still not ready, and more frustrating for us was that she did not know by when they would be able to serve us. This is totally unacceptable for a restaurant to say that after 1 hour and 40 mins of waiting, that you still are not sure how much more time it will take to bring the food. At this point, we were tired, hungry and disappointed. We had made reservations 3 weeks in advance based on the recommendation from Guide Michelin and were utterly and thoroughly disappointed with the service. We decided to leave without having dinner. The server was trying to maintain a positive disposition, but it wasn’t unfortunately enough to mask their unacceptable and unprofessional service. We left hungry and tired. Will definitely not recommend the restaurant to anyone. P.S.: the only item that they served ie the chips also seemed stale and...

The food roughly reachs the expected standars, but it wasn't a bad option for an ordinary Friday night dinner with friends. At least, until last Saturday...

After having made a reservation for 11 people, where we all ordered a minimum of 2 rounds of drinks and our correspondent main dish, the lack of flexibility of the restaurant policy surpassed the absurdity:

Once every of us finished our enchiladas, burritos and quesadillas, we asked the staff for letting us surprise the person whose BIRTHDAY TOOK PLACE THIS DAY with a homemade cake we brought to the local. The overwhelming response we got pointed out the IMPOSSIBILITY of eating this dessert inside as it's not been made by them. A cake. In a birthday party. After all the drinks and dishes we had just ordered.

I don't know if showing the printed rules was the wisest move or not, but it's a fact that we all sadly shared the idea of avoiding any kind of future potential celebration...

Nach einigen Empfehlungen aus meinem Freundes- und Familienkreis, stattete ich dem Enchilada Augsburg letzte Woche erstmals einen abendlichen Besuch ab. Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants fiel mir der traditionell mexikanisch eingerichtete Gastraum positiv ins Auge. Bereits kurz nach dem Eintreten empfing mich eine freundliche Servicekraft und teilte mir trotz dessen ich nicht im Vorfeld reserviert habe einen Sitzplatz zu. Dort angekommen wunderte ich mich zunächst über eine fehlende Speisekarte im analogen Format, fand dies aufgrund der übersichtlichen Aufbereitung der digitalen Version jedoch nicht weiter schlimm. Leider scheint es mit der digitalen Speisekarte aber noch einige Kinderkrankheiten zu geben, so wurden die Preise der allermeisten Gerichte mit 0,00€ beziffert. Als Hauptspeise habe ich die Quesadillas Ligeras (10,20€) bestellt, die nach einer kurzen Wartezeit von etwa 10 Minuten serviert wurden. Das Plating war ansprechend gestaltet, die Tellerportion für den hohen Preis jedoch zu klein. Dies rechtfertigt auch die Qualität der Zutaten in meinen Augen nicht. Geschmacklich gab es bei diesem Gericht allerdings nichts auszusetzen. Die dazu bestellten Süßkartoffelpommes (4,20€) waren knusprig und geschmacklich sehr gut. Dazu getrunken habe ich einen Salrita Jumbo Cocktail (12,90€, dank Happy-Hour 7,50€), der geschmacklich lecker war. Zum Nachtisch habe ich die vom Restaurant als Tipp angepriesenen Churros mit Schokoladendip (4,50€) bestellt. Diese waren geschmacklich sehr lecker und preislich absolut angemessen - eine echte Empfehlung! Dazu getrunken habe ich einen Moscow Mule (7,90€), der traditionell in einer Tasse serviert wurde. Dieser war geschmacklich in Ordnung. Einzig die hohe Menge an Eis trübt das ansonsten gute Gesamtbild. Alle Servicekräfte, die mich an diesem Abend bedienten waren freundlich und zuvorkommend und haben während meines Aufenthalts mehrmals nachgefragt, ob alles zu meiner Zufriedenheit ist. Abschließend lässt sich sagen, dass das Enchilada Augsburg preislich sicherlich nicht für jeden Tag geeignet ist, sich aber beispielsweise im Rahmen einer besonderen Veranstaltung definitiv ein...
