Disclaimer: I talked about everything with the staff. They apologized and promised to improve.
But my experience wasn’t good. Three reasons:
I arrived at 8:30 pm. It took 25 minutes before the waiter took my order. Only 10 minutes later my beer came (35 minutes in). There were only four tables eating on the ground floor.
I ordered the lamb with chanterelles and potato purée, especially for the wild mushrooms. My plate had only three (!) chanterelles, and a lot of semi-raw vegetables that were not mentioned on the menu. They did bring me more after I asked. The red wine reduction was not a red wine reduction, just a normal meat broth/sauce.
They offered me a free dessert to make up for the lack of mushrooms (which I appreciated): vanilla ice cream with wild strawberries. I had been considering this dessert anyway, because of the wild strawberries, a delicacy. But it turned out to be regular strawberries. Way too many compared to the small scoop of ice cream.
The plates did not correspond with the menu. I chose dishes for specific ingredients that were either missing or barely present.
The waiters told me the restaurant is in transition, and the menus were outdated. That really is a problem I hope will...
Read moreMy recent dinner experience at Rathausglockel was fantastic. The menu featured a diverse range of dishes. Dining here was a treat for the senses. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented, making every dish a visual delight.
This spot has a cozy charm that draws you in. The service was slow, took bit of time to serve the dishes, but it was worth waiting. The food was exactly what we needed after a long day.
We ordered Lamb fillet, Veal Schnitzel, duck roast, and Lamb fillet on bone. All the items were very soft and flavourful. We could taste the fresh garlic and herbs, making each bite delightful.
For dessert our sons had Rathausglöckel dream and Tonkabohnencreme. Both of them were mouth watering.
Our server Kirill was very attentive and explained the dishes throughly to us.
We stumbled upon this hidden gem, and it exceeded our expectations. Our younger son picked the place and it was wonderful experience of a delightful culinary journey.

Read moreThis restaurant is in the same building as the Hotel Rathausglockel but under different management. You do not have to be a hotel resident to use the restaurant. Small menu offering a range of choices which should suit everyone. All is freshly cooked so you need to make allowances for the time taken. We had two lovely meals of quail with potato puree and roast veg, and sea bass on a tasty ravioli. Sorry - we were hungry and ate it without taking photos but both dishes were well presented and of good size. You can also use the roof terrace and eat and drink there if you wish. We liked this place and...
