First of all i would like to say that i live in Berlin since 20 years (i am french) and i went many times to cassiopeia and until tuesday i never had a bad experience…
But this Tuesday, it was supposed to be free until 23:59 as it is written on cassiopeia website… Me and my friend took a taxi because we were at alba berlin game, so that we could arrive on time. We arrived at 23:51 and walked in. We did not see the bouncer first (because they were both sitting and talking with the woman at entrance) and they yelled at us to stop, he asked us 8 euros each .. we were surprised and when we asked why, by showing the watch, he answered “the boss decided that from now it would be 8 euros”… behind us were a couple of guys and there were surprised too, as it should have been free before 23:59…
After we refused to pay and asked what is the rule… the bouncer said he doesnt want us and refused us to enter…
Again we just asked “then what is the rule?” And he changed his mind, by saying that we did not say “hello” to them and thats why we have to pay… claiming that in France it would be same and we could go back to france if we are not happy here…
Not only it was rude for no reason, but most of all it is a clear case of FALSE ADVERTISEMENT… wich, legaly could have some consequences…
And last thing: i am not a drunk, aggressive...
Read moreI had an unpleasant experience I feel important to share, as it might help others avoid the same issue. The club offers a cloakroom service for €2, where you can leave your bag or coat. However, what they don’t tell you is that if you ask to briefly access your bag — even just to take something out and immediately return it — you’ll be charged another €2.
This policy isn’t clearly communicated in advance. I asked the staff member why this wasn’t mentioned before, and she claimed it was written on a sign. When I looked, I found no such information — I even took a photo of the sign, which clearly lacks any relevant details. When I pointed that out, she insisted it was there anyway.
I then approached another staff member at the front desk, hoping someone could help resolve the issue, but I was told it’s not her responsibility. When I asked who is responsible, I received no helpful answer.
Bottom line: be aware that the moment something goes wrong or you simply need assistance, there’s no real accountability. And definitely double-check that you have everything you might need from your bag before...

I went with 2 friends (we all live in Berlin). Waited 20 minutes to get served, I asked for a cocktail, from the large cocktail board in front of me - was told 'no it will take too long', then wasn't given time to ask for an alternative. When we eventually got the drinks (from a woman as helpful as a ladder made of soft cheese) all of the spirits were watered down. After complaining we relieved more watered down spirit - yet the tonic, in my gin and tonic, was still the most alcoholic part of the drink (including the straw).
Awful place - mugging off tourists....
