Flinta open decks: an obvious bro played a set by cheating his way into the booth by having a female friend register for a slot. That's not enough he had his friends film and take photos.
My friend who played a set earlier that night found out that there was another slot available and convinced me to play a b2b with her. I definitely qualify as flinta while I might not look the part.
When we approached the booth my friend told the bro that staff told her that they want him to stop playing. I was waiting in the corner still a bit anxious and hesitant as the situation was a bit tense, the bro didn't seem to cooperative. Suddenly a staff member ran towards the booth without assessing the situation further he pushed me out of the way. Then only talked to my friend and told her only she can play. So she continued to play solo. When the guy checked back with her, I confronted him. From his perspective he believed that 2 bros were trying to push a female DJ out of the booth. I tried to discuss things, it was pretty hard to get my point across. I suggested that he or other staff members should when they believe that a non flinta person breaks the rules first approach the situation slowly without making assumptions, then try to communicate the rules, without pushing or touching guests. In an old school fashion I was mocked for labelling his gentle touches "pushing" and repeatedly touched me again to make his point. I wanted to make clear I believe he is a friendly person, but he just didn't want to accept that my suggestion was reasonable. Later on the bro had the nerves to walk into the booth and push out my friend. I had the feeling that the situation was so unfair, how can this obvious bro break the rules multiple times without being confronted? My friend talked to the staff, in the end they invited us to play together. In summary Crack Bellmer has a friendly team, who try their best to run the flinta open decks night. I can understand how people would gender me but I couldn't understand how they let the obvious aggressive and impolite bro break rules...
Read moreBesides the fact that the pictures of the interior looked nothing like what was presented online, me and my friends waited in line for one hour (on 12/2/2022 in the evening) and some Asian-French guys who were in front of us weren’t permitted entry by one of the guards because they could only communicate in French. They were told by the guards at the entrance that they had to wait another hour before they could go inside (which was false because they let us in 15 min afterwards). They tried presenting their proof of vaccination, believing that’s what was being asked of them, and the guard proceeded to tell them that they couldn’t enter the bar if they couldn’t speak English or German and kicked them out of the line and physically put his hands on and pushed them to expel them from the line. Never mind that they had also been waiting in line for an hour, in the blistering cold, and that there were measures that they could’ve taken to convey what they wanted to before arrogantly and disrespectfully mistreating them for no other reason other than that they couldn’t speak in English/German. I thought this was incredibly ridiculous and frankly find it hard to imagine them doing the same thing to a group of young white women even if they didn’t speak English. I definitely won’t be returning to give my business to any establishment (such as Crack Bellmer) that blatantly discriminates against non-English/German speaking patrons who don’t look European, and will be advising everyone I know against coming here...
