I think my expectations of this being a cosy place (said on the banner outside it was a cosy cafe) was perhaps too high. It didn’t feel cosy at all (basic tables, cold lighting, not well styled bookshelf). The staff were ok, not friendly, not mean, but just felt like they wanted to be elsewhere, which is fine, there are days I don’t want to be at work either. What I still cant fathom is charging 50c for vegan milk on top of the already high prices. Literally milk prices have evened out and vegan barista milk in the supermarkets can be bought for less than 1,49, which equals a bio-cow’s milk. The dough on the matcha muffin was over mixed so it wasn’t moist and tasty. It cost 4,20 or 4,50, the details evade me. Too expensive for what was offered. I ordered a hot chocolate and it was basically glorified milk. The cats were friendly and didn’t look stressed which was nice to see. I don’t know if it’s a new cafe and if so, then there’s definitely room for improvement to make it cosier and more vegan friendly, in the sense of not just offering vegan options but charging a fair price for it too. Something that did turn me off is the responses that the catnip owner gave in these reviews. Instead of being defensive and threatening to take the reviews down, take some of the criticisms on and make something that is good, great. A cat cafe is something that can be so great in Berlin. It doesn’t have to be another rude hipster cafe (based on the multiple reviews regarding dreadlock person) but can be a welcoming space that celebrates feline goodness and good coffee with fair prices.

Me and my husband have been on a bleated honeymoon and while we have been enjoying this beautiful city we have sadly been missing our two cats Clea & Patra. So we did some online research and Catnip Coffee was at the top of the list so we made a bee line for this beautiful little piece of feline heaven. On getting here the staff who were extremely friendly asked if we had been before and pointed out the rules on the wall behind us (These were being guarded by a very cute Mr Snuggles) after reading and finding a table we have then placed an order getting ourselves a cherry blossom matcha latte, a beautiful handmade salami bagel and a vegan matcha cupcake. Our order was quickly delivered and we have enjoyed every bite of such amazing food and drink so much we ordered ourselves a second cherry blossom matcha latte and even some merchandise bearing some of the beautiful Catnip cats. Highly recommend this place and just know the cats are looked after amazingly and the food and drink is amazing and priced very well xxx

I come here often as the cakes and coffee is quite nice as well as the company of the cats. Recently I found these papers on each table which is offering customers to leave a 5star google review to get a free muffin. I do not understand why such a nice place which could authentically drive organically good reputation decided to buy positive reviews. It is very disappointing to see that this place wants to buy their reputation instead of bettering themselves through reviewing original feedbacks. It’s ok to encourage people to leave a review but to specify it should be a 5 star feedback with an incentive, it basically creates a dishonest perception about the place, as it leaves no room for any suggestions or constructive criticism. Meanwhile I love this place because of the atmosphere and their delicious food and drinks, I do not appreciate such dishonest practices, hence 3 stars, and probably will get my coffee elsewhere in the future.

This is one of the best experiences I've had absolutely wonderful, the moment I steped in and my eyes adjusted to the brightness my heart was filled with joy as a cat sat awaiting, as I stood in the presence of the cat, I soon to find out was called princess, my body was pulled to the cat as if it had its own gravitational pull. As I streched out my arm to pet the cat, princess jumped down and ran to the back of the café, even though I only had a instant with her I felt slightly sad that we should part so quickly, as I looked more at my surroundings I saw two chairs sitting at a table looking outside throug a window that streched from ceiling to floor, the sight of the chaotic street outside and the quiet and peaceful inside of the café gave me a spark of sadness. As my eyes drifted more to the right they fell upon some bar chairs with a table, at the table end there was a shelf with pillows layed on the planks, "It's most likely for cats, that they have the high ground to win any fight against any feble human like me.", I thought to myself. But before I lost myself in the bountiful scenery I I heard a voice behind me:"Hello would you like anything." As I turned around I saw a barista behind a counter with a plastic sheet between us, "Uhhh sure, could I have a Lemon Cake", answerd I as I was reading through the menu. As the barista took out the cake to serve to me, I saw a redish coloured cat readying to jump, as the barista pulled back the plastic sheet between us to give me the cake, tiger the redish coloured cat jumped right behind the counter into the kitchen, after some ruckus in the back of the kitchen the barista picked up tiger and carefully placed him outside the kitchen. As I payed the barista told me I could sit anywhere where I wanted, so as I walked to the back of the café in the corner of my eye I saw princess as I looked up princess was standing on a board attached above the seating area, as I sat down on one of the couches and started to enjoy my cake a black cat jumped ontop of my legs, because this has never happened to me I malfunctioned and froze up after what felt like an eternity the cat licked itself and stood up to run away never too be seen again I wished I would have had the chance to have found out their name. Alas I needed to go my daily responsibilities so I stood up, enjoyed the last time I would see this establishment in a while and left. Altogether the food, service, cats and seating area were very good nothing to...

The waitress who’s got dreadlocks was extremely unfriendly all the times I’ve been to this place. Today the issue was that I used the available power extension from one table to the other to power my laptop. Explained that I needed to power my laptop and she suggested that I’d sit working on a sit that only has a coffee table. It’s a shame because I actually really like the concept, however this person’s behavior makes it impossible for me to be in a good mood.

EDIT: taking into account that it was mentioned on the response the “hazard” caused but the long extension cable that already was there plugged to a wall socket caused. I’d like to clarify that the main issue here is not that I, being a paying customer could not work while sitting on the only table that was appropriate to have my laptop on. The true issue is being talked to in the tone I was. This person recurrently has had a patronizing, arrogant attitude towards me and my friends, even before this situation happened. And yes I like the concept, however, as a paying customer I believe I deserve being treated with respect. It’s just ridiculous that I get such a response after I call out for how disrespectful this person has been. This people are rude to the clients then one uses the only way there is to call them out for this and is accused of being “punishing this business”. I just wish someone opens another cafe like this, now with people who don’t treat...
