Kanatci Abi — Restaurant in Berlin

Very popular modern restaurant with an open kitchen. Nice looking staff, elegantly dressed. Warm welcome. I was seated at a small table. The cozy atmosphere suddenly changed: the bright spotlights went on ... they said it is automatic and would go off soon (but it did not!)... Families with cheerful children came in; the door was left open; so the icy wind blew in. My first impression of an elegant cozy restaurant turned into a Turkish bazaar. The menu is a bit confusing at first glance... several languages, unknown dishes... but the staff is very helpful. Looking around: every dish looks fabulous, plenty of food to share, very efficient professional kitchen... But, unfortunately, my visit remained short; I left after the appetizer because the atmosphere had become unbearable. Still the place is very recommendable and I suggest reserving a table beforehand, further from the front door, in the back...

This is our go-to neighbourhood Turkish/Middle Eastern place. The meats are great, the Turkish wine is brilliant and the service, especially with Muhammad (hope the spelling is right) is fantastic! He is so great, it makes the whole dining experience enjoyable. The ambience is also very nice, both in (cosier) and outside (al fresco people watching laidback feel)

If there’s any constructive feedback, I would say I have noticed the price/volume ratio has increased, but with everything else happening in the world, I know it’s justifiable but maybe watch it just to make sure it’s still a fantastic value coming to dine here....

I was craving for some good Turkish / Middle Eastern food and Kanatci Abi turned out to be a home run. Chilled out atmosphere, nice attention to details by the staff and the food hitting the high notes building layer on layers of refined distinct tastes. That was the first time that I tried warm humus. The humus on it's own I would rate as ok but in combination with the warm thin sliced meat on top, a very unique nice appetizer and the warm bread extending the flavors. The mix grill options are plenty and one of the five grills will serve two just fine. The scampi were on point, the lamb chop fantastic and the filet super tender. Great job that...
