Der Fischladen — Restaurant in Berlin

Update: I'm downgrading my old review because the restaurant has attempted to remove it from Google Maps already twice. After a second look, I realised there are barely any negative reviews which are recent, which is just unrealistic. I prefer restaurants that can handle a bit of criticism.

Good food, but in my opinion the service is always disappointing. One of the regular waiters came off to me as rather unfriendly. We made a reservation online, however my name wasn't on the list when we showed up despite the confirmation and he seemed very annoyed & didn't make us feel welcome.. The other time we were passing by early in the evening, the restaurant was half empty. We asked the same waiter for a table, however he just said "ne" and walked away. Finally one time we ordered some food, but when we came to pick it up it turned out they didn't even start cooking (probably just forgot about it). So everything was cooked in a rush while we were waiting resulting in tuna being undercooked (which is quite expensive). Honestly, if not the convenient location and my desire to eat more fish, I wouldn't bother coming back after...

Visited this restaurant today, encouraged by the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed:

1. Inaccurate menu + poor price-to-quality ratio. The menu listed “grilled sea bream,” but it was actually pan-cooked with an excessive amount of oil—not grilled at all. The same applied to the “grilled Rotbarsch” (redfish). Furthermore, they served ketchup and mayonnaise in plastic "Heinz" packets, which felt so cheap for the price you pay.

2. Rude service. The waiter was openly unfriendly—we could feel his contempt in how he spoke and even looked at us. Still, I left a tip, and he didn’t even say “thank you.” :)

Overall, I am very disappointed by this visit. There are plenty of much better restaurants in the area that deserve your...

Well, my hopes were so so high as I passed by so many times and thought I'd love to try this one day.... Today we had the chance to try them out and sadly the food/fish quality was just average.

Portions are filling but the Overall qualitytaste was not satisfactory. Maybe that's just what you get in the mainland of Germany far away from the meditRanian sea but my expectations were not satisfied.

It was just ok. 100 euro 3 people is kinda ok but I really wished the consistency of the fish and fragrance would pop just a little bit more.

The staff was extremely friendly and really forthcoming. But we won't return . There are a couple of fish places that we will try first.
