Dirty Velvet Drinkery — Restaurant in Berlin

We've went with my wife there for a quick drink the other night.

To be frank, the place was busy, but we've waited for 20 mins to just give our orders. And we've tried to order inside the place twice and each time they've said that they'll come and pick our order. I mean, I'm already there, get my order already!

After we've got our drinks (finally) and when we were done we've waited for 15 mins to just ask for the check. Once again we've went inside to ask for check and (of course) they've said that they'd come and give the check.

We've waited like 20 more mins to just to get the check and no one came. Eventually we've just left the money on the table and walked away.

Try to get there if the place is not busy. Owners seem to like to talk with each other rather than serving the people there.

And drinks were...

Cozy place with nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, at the end of the evening we were not allowed to pay separately and found some extra drinks on the tap. We had an argument with the bartender and he kindly asked us to not visit the bar again, implying that we are some kind of cheaters. I am sorry, but I refuse to pay for goods that I did not consume.

In general, avoid bars in Berlin that don't allow to split the bill (this seems to be practice in British pubs)! For large groups, it is a recipe for situations like the above that create mutual distrust between service and customers and leave both parties with a...

I don't know whether the bartender from yesterday was also the owner as he claimed, but he was extremely rude. Firstly he was working sooo slowlyyyy, then he was so pretentious..we waited for 10minutes just to point us to a table (because none of them were cleared and had glasses from previous customers). And the bar wasn't even full... When I told him that he can be nicer and kinder since we are customers he told me and my friend that he can point us to another bar and of course at that point we left...discusting behaviour and it is a pity because the times I've been before the other employees have always...
