I love espresso house, i always feel at home there and the staff is super nice and good at speaking english. I am however having some trouble with the drink i always order. I order a iced vanilla matcha latte every time i’m there and each time i get a different drink. The staff that has been there longer usually make it well, but i’ve experienced some really bad drinks. Some of the baristas put the matcha powder in the bottom of the cup and then cold milk which doesn’t make the powder dissolve at all. Some mix it with hot water but still in the bottom of the cup so it’s difficult to blend it in with the rest of the milk. Some mix the matcha in a separate bowl which is great, but still put the vanilla syrup in the bottom of the cup which again is difficult to dissolve. Some are super great and mix the vanilla syrup together with matcha in a separate cup with hot water and pour it on top:))) one person even foamed some milk and put it on top, it was the best matcha latte i ever had. I’m hoping the staff could get some more training on how to...
Read moreEspresso House is probably my favourite of all coffee chains. Nobody understands the brilliant simplicity of a long black filter coffee like them, and I think nobody understands how to set up a cafe for cafe things - reading, writing, chatting - like them either (of course referring only to the coffee chains here). This particular Espresso House excels at all these things, and is blessed with a particularly affable team of baristas. Since I have moved to Prenzlauer Berg, the best mornings are ones that start early, and where my transition from yoga to work happen here. A quick and inevitably warm interaction with one of the baristas, joyfully smelling my mug of large black (maybe a carrot cardamom muffin if I’m feeling especially indulgent), and sitting by a window with the eyes and lights of Schönhauser Allee beaming at me as I sit down to write. A big thank you to everyone who works here and runs this place. You’re becoming one of my favourite parts of my morning routine....
Read moreMy favorite working spot in Berlin so far! Trust me I've been too quite a lot within 2 years and constantly working remote.
My personal favs:
good download speed // WiFi (sometimes its lagging) vegan options its a chain but definitely better than Starbucks, Fellows and Co. Enough space // even though it can be very crowded. Love the high and slim booth tables free tap water (idk if its filtered tho) bonus program (discount for anything you are getting there) people working there are just super NICE all the time!
Cons:
uploading speed // WiFi is like 2 out of 10 (very bad) only 6 hours for using WiFi - HACK change your MAC address of your computer (google it how to change it) you literally have to fight for your spot but once you have one you are good. only one toilette but oh well outlets are there no doubt but for the front row at the window you only have 1-2 for 5-6 seats. Can...
