Five Guys Burgers and Fries Berlin East Side Gallery — Restaurant in Berlin

It really is just the hype surrounding this name.

Sure, it is probably the better one in the fast food burger chain department, beating the likes of Burger King or McDonald's in taste... Those are, after all, fast food chains demanding fast food prices. But therein lies the issue: Five guys burgers starts at ~8€ and are... similar in size?

Yeah, of course. fresh ingredients and the customization possibilities.... But please. Why go to five guys when you can just go to a proper diner or restaurant (with all the options they offer), pay probably the same price and get an insanely better burger than the one offered here?

Five guys is definitely good for what it's trying to be: a fast food burger place. Definitely better than Burger King or McDonald's, no question.

BUT: Their prices do not reflect their "fast food chain tag". It literally screams wanting to be compared to diners/ restaurants and in that comparison... Five guys really falls short of any reasonable expectation one may have after seeing those ridiculous price tags.

After all it's just fast food. And paying this much? I'd rather not :) (2 Stars for accidentally giving me one additional...

I have been to Five Guys a number of times but the experience this evening was sub-par. We ordered two burgers and a regular fries. The burger chef forgot to add Japapenos to my burger and also the fries were very small portion. I have ordered this size before and it's normally enough for two to share. Maybe it is a message from management for cost cutting which would lead me to believe that they are now ripping off customers since their prices remain the same, but the portions less. As for the burger, I returned and mentioned the quantity of fries, the manager acknowledged and changed my order but it took around 10mins and my partner had already finished her burger and we both had to eat separately as a result of a mistake by the staff. Eventually I received my order back with a more adequate portion of fries and the right ingredients in my burger. The production line didn't seem to have it together here and don't take care and attention on customers orders. I strongly recommended NOT go to this place. I wish I could give them negative points for various reasons as follows: The music was too loud, I thought I am an old man ( 28 by the way) but I asked my 22 year old friend who is into metal also confirmed it. Moreover after placing the order they give you a number and after your order is done, they will shout your number which was very annoying. They don't have any display or the vibrating token kind of thing. The cold drink is unlimited fill for around 4 euro but when you take it, the machine gives you much more water than actual cola and completely ruins the taste of cola. We ordered big fries which was given in a big paper cup in a paper bag. I wonder what they think how people will eat it after finishing it half. You need to put the fries on tissue paper as they don't have any tray or plate. Anyways, the fries had too much salt and spice over it. None of us could eat it completely. I found it too expensive and it is completely not worth the taste....
